The long-awaited Maruti Suzuki e Vitara electric SUV will go on sale in the Indian market in September, 2025. A new report claims that the first production unit of the electric SUV will roll out on August 26, 2025 at the Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat.
It is expected that the new Maruti e Vitara will be launched on September 3, 2025. MSIL has already announced a new SUV launch event on Sept 3. It was speculated that the company will introduce the Escudo midsize SUV on this day; however, the latest developments suggest that the new model could be the Suzuki e Vitara.
The e Vitara will be Suzuki’s first global electric SUV based on an all-new scalable platform. The Gujarat plant will act as a global export hub for the electric SUV. This electric SUV will be exported to over 100 countries.

The Suzuki e Vitara will be offered with two battery choices - 48.9kWh and 61.1kWh - both will come with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The higher-spec model will offer 171bhp and 192bhp, while the lower-spec e Vitara with 48.9kWh battery pack offers 141bhp and 192Nm.
The higher-spec model will offer a certified range of up to 500km on a single charge. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in under 9 seconds. The SUV supports fast charging and the bigger 61.1kWh battery can attain 0 to 80% charging status in 50 minutes.

The new Maruti Vitara Electric will come in 10 colours, including 4 dual-tone choices. The single-tone colour options include Bluish Black, Next Blue, Spending Silver, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey and Opulent Red. The dual-tone colour options include Opulent Red with Black roof, Land Breeze Green with Black roof, Splendid Silver with Black Roof and Arctic White with Black roof.
The new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV. We expect the new e Vitara electric SUV to price somewhere around Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, ex-showroom.
