Mahindra BE 6 Black Edition teased ahead of debut First electric SUV from Mahindra to get a Dark Edition Four new Vision concept SUVs – T, S, X & SXT – to be revealed All-new compact SUV, possibly Thar Sports, expected New flexible platform supporting petrol, diesel, hybrid & EV August 15, 2025 – Mahindra’s mega Independence Day event
Mahindra is all set for a grand Independence Day event on August 15, 2025. The homegrown carmaker will unveil four all-new concept SUVs, a brand-new platform vision, and an exciting special edition of its upcoming electric SUV - the BE 6 Black Edition.
Mahindra recently teased a dark-themed version of its BE 6 electric SUV. The teaser reveals edgy styling, suggesting an all-black treatment inside and out. A two-tone finish can also be seen on the front fascia.
This will be Mahindra’s first electric SUV to get a Dark Edition. It is likely based on the top-spec variant of the BE 6 and may follow the brand’s special-edition trend seen with the XUV700 Ebony and Scorpio N Carbon Edition. The XEV 9e could be next in line for a similar treatment.

Alongside the BE 6 Black Edition, Mahindra will showcase four Vision SUV concepts – Vision T, Vision S, Vision X, and Vision SXT. All will be based on a new flexible platform compatible with petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains.
Vision X – Expected to join the XUV lineup, featuring a sleek connected tail lamp, bold bonnet lines, and new alloy wheels.
Vision T – Likely linked to the Thar family, with vertical tail lamps, a spare wheel on the tailgate, and rugged design elements.
Vision SXT – An off-road capable pickup concept, possibly a more advanced version of the Scorpio N-based truck seen in South Africa.
Vision S – Expected to be part of the Scorpio family, with upright styling, flared arches, a hood scoop, and road-biased tyres.
Mahindra is also rumoured to reveal a new compact SUV, possibly called the Thar Sports. Based on the new NU platform, it will support multiple powertrains and is expected to launch later this year or early next year.
