Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its first fully-electric SUV, the e-Vitara, on December 2, 2025. After a few delays earlier this year, the much-awaited e Vitara is finally going to make its debut in the Indian market. With growing interest in electric vehicles, the e Vitara is expected to make a big splash as Maruti Suzuki’s first entry into the electric SUV segment.

The e Vitara price is expected to be in the range of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, making it a competitive offering in the electric SUV market. The base variant with a 49 kWh battery will likely be priced at around Rs 20 lakh, while the more powerful 61 kWh variant will probably cost about Rs 25 lakh.
This puts the e Vitara in competition with other popular electric SUVs like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Creta Electric, price of which are as follows:
- Tata Curvv EV (Rs 17.49 lakh-Rs 22.24 lakh)
- MG ZS EV (Rs 17.99 lakh-Rs 20.50 lakh)
- Hyundai Creta Electric (Rs 18.02 lakh-Rs 24.40 lakh)
- Mahindra BE 6 (Rs 18.9 lakh-Rs 27.65 lakh)
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will come with two different battery options, offering choices based on power needs and driving range:
49 kWh battery (2WD): This variant will provide 144 hp and a driving range of 344 km.
61 kWh battery (2WD): The more powerful version, offering 174 hp and a range of 428 km.
61 kWh AWD version: The top-spec variant will offer 184 hp and a range of 394 km.
For the Indian market, the e Vitara will most likely launch with the 61 kWh battery pack, which offers a range of over 500 km based on ARAI testing. The AWD version, which comes with a dual-motor setup, will be available later, offering better handling and traction on various terrains.
The e Vitara will offer fast-charging options, so you won't have to wait long to charge. With DC fast charging, the battery can go from 20% to 80% in less than an hour. This is perfect for quick stops during long trips. The AWD version will also feature fast-charging capabilities, making it even more convenient for those who need to charge on the go.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara stands out with its bold, modern design and over 500 km of range. Built on a special electric platform, it marks a significant step for Maruti in the premium electric SUV market. The e Vitara features a sleek, high-tech interior with large screens for more comfortable and enjoyable drive. With advanced safety features, it’s a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, feature-packed electric SUV.
