Excited about the Tata Sierra 2025? Here's what makes the ICE and EV versions different. Tata Sierra EV brings futuristic design and tech, while the ICE Sierra sticks to traditional power. Stay tuned for the big reveal of the Tata Sierra on November 25, 2025!
Tata Motors is all set to launch the much-awaited Tata Sierra 2025 on November 25 and the excitement around the SUV is growing by the day. As the brand releases teaser after teaser, fans are getting a sneak peek into both the interior and exterior design of the 2025 Sierra. While the brand will offer both petrol and diesel variants, the electric version, the Tata Sierra EV, will come with some different features and design elements that set it apart from the traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) models.
Let’s take a closer look at how the Tata Sierra EV differs from the traditional ICE model.
When it comes to the exterior, the Tata Sierra ICE and Sierra EV have some key differences, especially in the front-end design.
Sierra ICE: The regular model features a gloss-black finish at the top of the front grille and a body-colored bumper, which is typical for a petrol or diesel vehicle. The grille is textured, and the car has functional air vents to help with engine cooling. The design also includes a sleek LED light bar across the front and a faux silver skid plate below.
Tata Sierra EV: The electric version, on the other hand, has a cleaner design with a body-colored front bumper and a more aerodynamic shape. The EV has a slightly different, smoother bumper design to enhance efficiency and reduce drag, which is essential for electric vehicles. While both versions share the same full-width LED light bar, the EV's front end looks more modern that give it a futuristic theme of electric cars.
The side profiles of both SUVs are quite similar, with the signature wraparound rear window and blacked-out roof, giving them a floating design effect. However, the Tata Sierra EV has more refined alloy wheels, and it maintains the sleek, boxy appeal of the original model.

While the interiors of both versions haven’t been fully revealed yet, there are hints about what we can expect.
Tata Sierra ICE: The interior of the ICE model features a triple-screen setup, including a large touchscreen for infotainment, an instrument display, and a center console. The dashboard has functional AC vents, and the steering wheel looks similar to what you’d find in the Tata Nexon. There are also 4- and 5-seater configurations as well.
Tata Sierra EV: In contrast, the Tata Sierra EV interior, as seen in early previews, has a much more minimalist feel. It includes two separate screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, which give it a modern, tech-forward look. The design also hints at eco-friendly materials, with features like moss inserts on the dashboard. The HVAC controls and center console design are likely to be similar to the Tata Nexon EV to maintain consistency across Tata’s electric vehicle lineup.
Both models will offer premium features, but the Sierra EV will likely have a more futuristic design.
Here’s where the biggest difference lies: the powertrain.
Sierra ICE: The ICE-powered Sierra will be powered by a new 1.5-litre direct-injection petrol engine, with a possible 1.5-litre diesel option as well. This engine promises solid performance for those who prefer traditional petrol or diesel engines. The ICE model will also feature a multi-link suspension to provide a smooth ride across various terrains, making it versatile for urban and off-road conditions.
Tata Sierra EV: The Sierra EV, as expected, will be fully electric. While the exact details on the battery and motor specs haven’t been released yet, we know the Sierra EV will come with Tata’s new EV-specific powertrain, likely optimized for range and performance. The Sierra EV’s multi-link suspension will ensure a smooth ride, especially on bumpy or uneven roads, which is a major plus for electric SUVs.
Tata Sierra 2025 is shaping up to be a game-changer, both in terms of design and performance. Whether you choose the traditional ICE version or the all-new Sierra EV, both models will offer a premium driving experience for those looking for a reliable and stylish SUV.
