Hyundai Hits 8 Lakh Connected Car Milestone, Targets 10 Lakh by 2027
Hyundai has sold more than 8 lakh connected cars in India so far. Bluelink penetration has grown from 4% in 2019 to 20% in 2026. Hyundai's upcoming mass-market electric SUV will get next-gen connected technology as standard.
Hyundai introduced its Bluelink connected car technology in India in 2019 with the Venue. Since then, the technology has gradually expanded to more models across the company's portfolio.
Hyundai now has more than 8 lakh connected cars on Indian roads and aims to take this figure beyond 10 lakh by 2027. The company has also set a longer-term target of more than 20 lakh cumulative connected car sales by 2030.
The increase in connected car adoption highlights the growing importance of software and digital features in new cars.
Bluelink Offers More Than 70 Features
Hyundai Bluelink has evolved considerably since its introduction. The latest version offers more than 70 features covering safety, security and convenience. Some of the key functions include remote vehicle monitoring, vehicle health diagnostics, location tracking, trip history, remote commands, Hyundai Pay, Digital Key, Digital Passport and Remote Immobilizer. The system also supports more than 450 AI-powered voice commands across five languages, allowing owners to access several vehicle functions using voice controls.

Connected Car Penetration Rises To 20%
Hyundai says connected vehicle penetration across its portfolio has increased from just 4% in 2019 to 20% in 2026. The company has been steadily adding new software and connectivity features to its vehicles. The i20 received OTA map updates in 2020, followed by the next-generation AVNT system in 2022.
In 2025, Hyundai introduced its Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system, which brought Controller OTA update capabilities to newer models. This technology allows certain vehicle functions and digital services to be updated remotely, forming an important part of Hyundai's broader Software Defined Vehicle strategy.
Upcoming Hyundai EV To Get Next-Gen Technology
Hyundai's connected car push will continue with its upcoming mass-market electric SUV, which is scheduled to launch during this financial year. The company has confirmed that the new electric SUV will get next-generation connected car technology as standard across all variants.
This will make connectivity one of the key highlights of the upcoming EV, as Hyundai looks to combine electric mobility with software-driven features. The new SUV is also expected to play an important role in Hyundai's plans to expand its presence in India's mass-market electric vehicle segment.
Bluelink Has Helped Over 5 Lakh Motorists
Hyundai says its connected technology has also contributed to emergency assistance and roadside support. The company's connected ecosystem has assisted more than 5 lakh motorists through SOS and roadside assistance services. It has also supported around 15,000 crash notification interventions. Hyundai's vehicle tracing and recovery functions have additionally helped law enforcement agencies in vehicle recovery efforts.

Hyundai Targets 20 Lakh Connected Cars By 2030
Hyundai is now looking beyond its 10 lakh connected car target for 2027. The company aims to cross 20 lakh cumulative connected car sales by 2030 as software becomes increasingly important to its future vehicles. The automaker says its connected ecosystem is powered by around 1.2 million lines of code, covering areas such as vehicle monitoring, diagnostics, remote functions, safety, navigation and digital services.
With connected technology becoming more widespread and the upcoming mass-market electric SUV set to receive the latest system as standard, Hyundai's focus on software-defined mobility is expected to become even stronger in the coming years.
