Bugatti Destrier Revealed - The 1,600hp Hypercar That Only One Person Will Own

Bugatti Destrier is a one-off hypercar with a powerful 1,600hp W16 engine. The bespoke model gets design inspiration from the iconic Type 57SC Atlantic. Only one Destrier will be built under Bugatti’s exclusive Programme Solitaire division.

Bugatti has unveiled the Destrier, a one-off hypercar created for a single customer under its exclusive Programme Solitaire division. Based on the track-focused Bolide, the Destrier gets completely new bodywork and a much more luxurious cabin.

The new hypercar is the third one-off project from Bugatti's Programme Solitaire, following the Brouillard and F.K.P. Hommage. While the Bolide was built with track performance as its main focus, the Destrier takes a different approach by combining extreme performance with a strong focus on design and craftsmanship.

Inspired by the Iconic Type 57SC Atlantic

The biggest change compared to the Bolide is the design. The Destrier uses the same carbon-fibre monocoque but gets an entirely new exterior inspired by the legendary Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic.

The design is cleaner and more rounded than the Bolide, with fewer aerodynamic elements. It gets a redesigned interpretation of Bugatti's signature C-line, along with new lighting elements, a wider horseshoe grille and large rear haunches. The rear wing has also been integrated more neatly into the bodywork, giving the Destrier a smoother appearance.

At just 1 metre tall, the Destrier is the lowest Bugatti ever built. It rides on 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear. The car has been finished in a special Sapphire Celeste paint shade created specifically for its owner. Polished aluminium details and exposed carbon-fibre elements further set the car apart.

Luxury Replaces the Bolide's Track-Focused Cabin

The interior of the Destrier is very different from the stripped-down cabin of the Bolide. Bugatti has used Ambre Voyageur leather and nubuck along with a special 3D-knitted textile woven with copper yarn. The cabin also features several handcrafted metal details.

The door handles, air vents, steering wheel hub and entry plates use hammered metal finishes, adding to the medieval inspiration behind the Destrier's name. A small French flag detail has also been included to highlight Bugatti's heritage.

1,600hp W16 Engine

Despite its focus on luxury and design, the Destrier remains an extreme performance machine. It uses the Bolide's 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, producing a massive 1,600hp.

Bugatti has not revealed acceleration or top-speed figures for the Destrier. The company says the project is more focused on design and craftsmanship than chasing outright performance numbers. The car continues to use the Bolide's carbon-fibre chassis and running gear, with Bugatti yet to reveal any major mechanical changes beyond the new bodywork.

Only One Bugatti Destrier Will Be Made

The Destrier is a 1-of-1 commission, meaning only one example will ever be built. Bugatti has not revealed how much the unique hypercar cost its owner. Considering its bespoke development, exclusive design and extremely limited production, the Destrier is expected to be worth a significant amount. The car will make its public debut during Monterey Car Week, with Bugatti scheduled to showcase it at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 16, 2026.

A Modern Bugatti With Classic Inspiration

The Destrier shows a different side of Bugatti. Instead of focusing only on speed and track performance, the one-off hypercar puts design, luxury and craftsmanship at the centre. By combining the mechanical base of the Bolide with styling inspired by the Type 57SC Atlantic, Bugatti has created a modern hypercar that also pays tribute to its historic models. And with just one Destrier being built, this 1,600hp W16 machine is set to remain one of the rarest Bugattis ever created.
