Ferrari Amalfi Spider will be launched in India on July 17. It gets a retractable soft top and a 640 hp twin-turbo V8 engine. Expected price could be around Rs 4.5 crore.
Ferrari is set to launch the Amalfi Spider in India on July 17. It is the convertible version of the recently introduced Amalfi coupe and comes with the same twin-turbo V8 engine, while adding a retractable soft top for open-air driving.
The new sports car is expected to be priced at around Rs 4.5 crore (ex-showroom), making it slightly more affordable than expected due to the upcoming India-EU Free Trade Agreement.
The biggest difference between the Amalfi Spider and the coupe is the powered fabric roof. The soft top can be opened or closed in 13.5 seconds at speeds of up to 60 kmph. Ferrari says the roof also provides good insulation from outside noise and heat when closed.
Apart from the roof, the overall design remains unchanged. The Amalfi Spider gets slim LED headlamps connected by a black strip, large front air intakes and a sporty front bumper designed to improve airflow. At the rear, it features slim LED tail-lamps, four exhaust tips and an active rear spoiler that automatically adjusts depending on driving conditions to improve stability.
The car offers 255 litres of boot space with the roof closed, which reduces to 172 litres when the roof is folded away.

Inside, the Amalfi Spider shares the same cabin as the coupe. It comes with a 2+2 seating layout, leather upholstery and a three-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons. The dashboard features a 15.6-inch digital driver's display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch display for the front passenger.
Other features include powered front seats, automatic climate control and wireless phone charging. The sports car also gets several safety and driver assistance features, including Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and Ferrari's brake-by-wire braking system.
Powering the Amalfi Spider is a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 640 hp and 760 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, sending power to the rear wheels.
Ferrari claims the Amalfi Spider can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. Although it is around 86 kg heavier than the coupe because of the convertible roof, its acceleration to 100 kmph remains unchanged.
The Ferrari Amalfi coupe is currently priced at Rs 5.59 crore (ex-showroom). However, the Amalfi Spider is expected to be offered at an estimated starting price of around Rs 4.5 crore, as Ferrari is reportedly accepting orders at revised pricing ahead of the India-EU trade agreement.
