530 km or 650 km? Mahindra BE 07 Could Offer Two Range Options

Mahindra BE 07 could be offered with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options. The larger battery version could deliver around 650 km of range. The electric SUV is expected to launch in India in the first half of 2027.

Mahindra is preparing to expand its Born Electric lineup with the BE 07, a new electric SUV that will sit between the BE 6 and XEV 9e in the company’s EV range. The model was originally expected to arrive in 2026, but its launch is now likely to take place in the first half of 2027.

The upcoming Mahindra BE 07 is expected to target buyers who want more space and comfort than the BE 6 but do not need a three-row SUV. One of its biggest highlights could be the choice of two battery packs, with the larger version expected to offer a range of around 650 km.

Two Battery Options Expected

Mahindra is likely to offer the BE 07 in standard-range and extended-range versions. The standard-range model could get a 59 kWh LFP battery pack paired with a rear-mounted electric motor producing around 228 hp and 380 Nm. This version is expected to deliver a claimed range of around 530 km on a single charge.

The extended-range version could use a larger 79 kWh LFP battery pack. It is expected to produce around 282 hp and 380 Nm, with the range likely to be around 650 km. This two-battery strategy would allow Mahindra to offer the BE 07 to buyers with different requirements, from those looking for a more affordable version to customers who regularly travel longer distances.

BE 07 Will Be Bigger Than BE 6

The BE 07 is expected to measure around 4.6 metres in length, making it considerably larger than the BE 6. The upcoming EV will focus on cabin space and comfort while retaining Mahindra's sharp Born Electric design language. Recent test vehicles have revealed horizontal headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, a large rear quarter glass and raked D-pillars. The SUV is also expected to feature 19-inch wheels and C-shaped LED tail lamps.

Triple-Screen Cabin Expected

The cabin could be one of the biggest highlights of the BE 07. Recent spy shots have indicated that Mahindra could offer three 12.3-inch screens across the dashboard. This setup is already available on the XEV 9e and XEV 9S, while Mahindra is also expected to introduce it on the BE 6.

Other expected features include ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof with integrated ambient lighting, a Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos and an augmented reality head-up display. The BE 07 could also get a wide range of Level 2 ADAS features.

Mahindra BE 07 vs Tata Harrier EV

The upcoming BE 07 will compete with electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV. Mahindra is expected to position the BE 07 as a more spacious alternative to the BE 6, while keeping it below the XEV 9e in the company's EV lineup. The combination of a larger cabin, premium features and a possible 650 km range could make the BE 07 an important model for Mahindra.

Launch Expected in 2027

The Mahindra BE 07 was initially scheduled for an October 2026 launch. However, the company is now expected to introduce it in India during the first half of 2027.

While Mahindra has not yet confirmed the final battery, range and powertrain specifications, the two-range strategy could make the BE 07 a strong option in India's growing electric SUV market.
