We informed you earlier that Maruti Suzuki will launch 8 new SUVs in the country before the end of this decade. The company will adopt multi-powertrain strategy, and will introduce new cars with petrol, CNG, hybrid and flex-fuel engines. Moreover, MSIL has already announced to introduce 4 new electric vehicles by 2030.
Maruti Suzuki is yet to reveal the fine details on its upcoming SUV range. Interestingly, the company is not giving up on small cars and is preparing an all-new micro SUV. Likely to be launched in 2026-27, the new Maruti micro SUV will slot below the Brezza and will rival the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
The new micro SUV is likely to be offered with petrol and CNG fuel options. Moreover, Maruti Suzuki is developing an all-new affordable hybrid powertrain for its mass-market cars. The Fronx facelift will be the first model to get the new hybrid engine, which will use the 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine. The same powertrain could be offered with upcoming micro SUV.
Maruti Suzuki is also looking at a premium SUV segment to achieve its ambitious target of 50% market share. The company is likely to launch a premium midsize SUV and an all-new 7-seater SUV. The new 7-seater SUV will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.

The company is also planning to expand production capacity to four million units annually by 2030. Out of these four million, 1 million will be for the export markets. Maruti Suzuki will also introduce the upgraded version of the Grand Vitara, which will have all the features accessible in the Victoris. Moreover, next-gen Maruti Suzuki Brezza is also under development.
Maruti Suzuki is developing a new series hybrid powertrain, which is claimed to be cheaper than the Series Parallel hybrid unit. The new hybrid engine will comprise a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine, a small battery pack and an electric motor. This engine is reportedly to offer a fuel efficiency of over 35kmpl.
