Tata Sierra ICE to arrive in Q1, 2026 New Duster price announcement in coming weeks Both SUVs will rival the Creta and Victoris Sierra to debut new 1.5L NA and 1.5L turbo petrol engines
Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the Victoris mid-sized SUV to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. However, the newly launched Maruti Victoris will face two new challengers in the segment. While Renault will launch the new-gen Duster, Tata Motors will introduce the long-awaited Sierra lifestyle SUV. Both SUVs are scheduled to be launched in the country before the end of this financial year.

Tata Motors will launch Sierra as a mid-sized lifestyle SUV in both EV and ICE iterations. The Sierra EV will arrive in October/November, while the ICE model is slated to launch in Q1, 2026. The new SUV will measure around 4.3-4.4 meters in length, making it a direct challenger to the likes of the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, Hyryder and the newly launched Victoris.
The Tata Sierra ICE model will be offered with multiple powertrains, including a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel. The turbo petrol engine will produce around 170hp and 280Nm, while the oil burner is good for 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission choices could include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT (turbo petrol) and a 6-speed automatic with diesel.

Renault India has confirmed that the price announcement for the long-awaited Duster will happen in coming weeks. If media reports are to be believed, production of the new Renault Duster will begin in September or October 2025 at the brand’s Chennai based manufacturing plant. It is expected that the launch could take place in late this year or early next year.
The third-generation Duster is reportedly creating immense buzz among customers. In fact, few excited customers have already made advanced payments to Renault dealers to be among the first to own the new Duster. It is designed and developed on the brand’s new CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin a new 7-seater Boreal and Nissan’s C-segment SUV.
The third-gen Duster will first arrive in petrol avatar, while a hybrid version is expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027. It is expected to be powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 151bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
