Tata Motors had launched the Sierra ICE in the country on 25th November 2025. The SUV is priced between Rs 11.49 lakh and Rs 21.29 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan-India. Bookings for the SUV were commenced on 15th December, and it garnered over 70,000 orders within 23 hours. The new Tata Sierra has already reached dealerships for customers preview and test drives, and its deliveries are being promised to commence from January 15, 2026. It was speculated that Tata Motors will launch the Sierra EV in January 2026; however, our sources reveal that the electric SUV will arrive only by mid-2026.
The unprecedented response for the new Sierra has prompted Tata Motors to increase its production and re-think on the launch timeline for the Sierra EV. The brand’s priority is to fast pace the delivery of the ICE-powered Sierra. The Sierra EV is expected to be launched at the end of second quarter, 2026; however, Tata is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

Tata Motors has briefly revealed the new Sierra EV at the official TVC of the SUV. While the ICE model is based on the new ARGOS platform, the new Tata Sierra EV will be based on the Acti.ev platform that also underpins the Punch.ev and Curvv.ev. The electric SUV will directly rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and the Mahindra BE 6.
The electric SUV is likely to be offered with two battery choices, including a 55kWh from Curvv.ev and 65kWh from Harrier.ev. It will be a front-wheel-drive SUV, but the higher-spec model will also receive a dual-motor AWD setup. It is expected to offer a range of up to 450-500km on a single charge.
The production model looks largely identical to the ICE-counterpart, except for the EV-specific changes. It has a boxy design, featuring upright stance and wraparound rear glass. The electric SUV has a closed-off front, flatter bumper and connected LED DRLs, and high-set bonnet along with short overhangs and flush-type door handles.
It is expected that the cabin of the new Tata Sierra EV will be similar to the ICE-powered model, except for the new colour scheme. The SUV will sport a triple screen dashboard, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch co-occupant entertainment screen and a 10.25-inch driver’s display. It will be equipped with a dual-zone climate control, a new twin-spoke steering wheel, ventilated and powered front seats, and a large panoramic sunroof. For safety and security, the electric SUV will have LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, multiple airbags, ESC, hill-launch and descent assist, and others.
