The American auto giant, Tesla has finally entered the Indian market with its globally popular Model Y. The Tesla Model Y has finally been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 59.89 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. Adding to it, Tesla has also introduced its first experience centre at Jio World Drive in Mumbai.
The Model Y is available in two variants - RWD and long range. The RWD variant is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, while the long-range version is tagged at Rs 67.89 lakh. The on-road price of RWD and Long-Range variants stand at Rs 61.07 lakh and Rs 69.15 lakh, respectively. The on-road price includes “Administration and Service Fee” of Rs 50,000, which includes 18% GST.

The Tesla Model Y rear-wheel-drive variant is available with two battery choices - 60kWh and 75kWh. Both versions come with a 295hp, rear-axle-mounted electric motor. The 60kWh version is claimed to deliver a WLTP range of 500km on a single charge, while the long range version delivers an impressive range of 622km. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 5.6 seconds.
Using a 250kW DC fast charger, the battery can achieve up to 267km of range in just 15 minutes. Tesla is offering 4 years or 80,000km warranty of the Model Y. Adding to it, the company is giving 8 years or 1,92,000km warranty on Battery.
In terms of proportions, the Tesla Model Y is 4,790mm in length, 2,129mm in width and 1,624mm in height. The SUV rides on 19-inch aero-optimised wheels.
The new Tesla Model Y is equipped with multiple comfort and convenience features. It gets a 15-inch HD touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control with cabin overheat protection, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, ambient lighting and others. For safety and security, the SUV gets 7 airbags, advanced driver assistance system, a 360-degree vision via 8 exterior cameras and others.
