Renault Bridger

The Renault Bridger Concept previews a rugged sub-4 metre SUV, which was first unveiled in March 2026. Sylvia dos Santos, Renault’s Manager, has revealed that the production-ready version might retain the Bridger name. It will be positioned as a rugged, lifestyle compact SUV, featuring a distinctive design language.

Renault Bridger Launch Date

The Bridger is expected to enter production by the end of 2027. It will first go on sale in India (possibly around 2027 Diwali season), followed by exports to other developing nations such as Middle East and Africa.  

Expected Price in India

Similar to the Kiger, Renault is likely to adopt an aggressive price strategy for the Bridger. Prices are expected to start around Rs 7 lakh for the base variant, and go up to Rs 11 lakh for the fully-loaded trim.

Key Features of Bridger SUV

Designed and developed in India, the Renault Bridger will be based on the brand’s R-GMP platform, which also underpins the new Renault Duster. Similar to the concept, the production-ready version is likely to carry boxy stance with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Other design highlights might include headlamps with a layered LED patter, a large gloss black panel at the front with illuminated Renault lettering, sportier bumper with a large lower air intake, a sculpted bonnet, prominent wheel arches with black cladding and roof rails.

While the official features are yet to be revealed, Renault claims that it will offer best-in-class cabin space with generous headroom and kneeroom. The Bridger concept offers a boot space of 400-litres, making it one of the most spacious offerings in its segment.

The subcompact SUV is expected to offer a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging, automatic climate control, and more. On the safety front, the new Renault rugged SUV might be equipped with multiple airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and ADAS.

Engine Specifications

The Renault Bridger could be offered with multiple powertrain options in India including naturally aspirated petrol, turbocharged petrol and hybrid. An electric version might also join the lineup at a later stage. Transmission choices are likely to include both manual and automatic.

Competition

Within Renault’s product lineup, it will sit alongside the Kiger and is expected to be positioned against the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Skoda Kylaq, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
