Electric vehicles have been gaining a lot of attention lately, particularly in urban areas. Indian automakers have already stepped into the EV world and are providing environmentally-friendly cars to Indian customers. However, EVs come with a higher price tag as well which might discourage some customers from buying electric cars. Taking care of that, automobile companies are working on manufacturing some affordable electric car models for our Indian customers. A few of them even launched recently including Citroen eC3.

The Tiago EV from Tata Motors is the most affordable electric vehicle in the country. The brand offers four trims for the electric hatchback. It includes XE, XT, XZ Plus, and XZ Plus Lux. The starting price of Tiago EV stands at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) which goes up to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for its high-end variant. In addition, the EV comes equipped with two battery packs; 19.2 kWh (60 bhp and 110 Nm) and 24 kWh battery (73 bhp and 114 Nm). The former battery offers a claimed range of 250 kms while the latter delivers 315 kms on a single full charge.
Citroen India recently launched the electric version of its C3 in India. It is available in two variants; Live and Feel. Pricing for the base trim starts at Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom) while the automaker has priced its high variant at Rs 12.43 lakh (ex-showroom). The eC3 comes equipped with a 29.2 kWh battery pack, mated to an electric motor. Together, these can generate a power of 53 bhp and 143 Nm of peak torque. As far as the driving range is concerned, it offers a range of 320 kms on a full charge, ARAI-claimed.
Another affordable electric vehicle is the Tata Tigor EV which comes with a decent starting pricing of Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact sedan is offered in four variants named XE, XT, XZ Plus, and XZ Plus Lux. Its top-spec variant is priced at Rs 13.64 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tigor EV is powered by a 26 kWh battery pack which is mated to an electric motor. Their combined power output stands at 73 bhp with 170 Nm of peak torque. Besides, the electric sedan offers an ARAI-claimed range of 315 kms.
The Indian automakers are ready to boost their presence in selling electric cars. But if you have a price concern, the above-mentioned cars are the best affordable EV options for you to buy. Tata Tiago EV, Tata Tigor EV, and Citroen eC3 models fall in the price range of Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 13.64 lakh (ex-showroom), India. So, what are you waiting for?
