Tata Motors, a pioneering force in the automotive industry, is leading the way in sustainable transportation through strong initiatives in electric vehicles. With the successful launches of the Tigor.ev, Tiago.ev, and Nexon.ev, the brand has established a strong foundation in the EV segment.
The latest addition to their electric vehicle lineup is the Punch.ev showcasing the company's dedication to expanding its electric portfolio. This electric vehicle stands out with its fresh appearance, but what's really cool is the smart technology it brings to the table.
Curious to know about the new Punch.ev? Here are ‘Top 5 Things to Know’ about the EV:

Tata Punch.ev is the first Tata electric car to be based on the advanced Gen 2 architecture called Acti.EV which stands for Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle.
This platform is made with strong materials to make the SUV safer. It keeps the SUV's ground clearance at 190 mm and maintains good ramp-over angles. It is believed that this platform will also be used for upcoming Tata EVs such as the Curvv EV, Sierra EV, and Harrier EV.

From a design perspective, the Punch.ev takes a lot of inspiration from the Tata Nexon.ev, especially in the front where it resembles a smaller version of the SUV.
Similar to many electric vehicles, the front grille of the electric Punch is closed, and there is a long LED light strip up front. Below that, there are split headlights and fog lamps. The new bumper has a large air opening with vertical slats on the plastic part and a fake silver skid plate.
Notably, the Punch.ev is the first Tata electric vehicle to have a charging port up front and a front trunk (storage space under the hood).
Moving to the rear, it has a two-tone bumper, distinctive Y-shaped brake lights, and a spoiler on the rooftop.
Unlike the regular Tata Punch with drum brakes at the rear, the Punch.ev has disc brakes on all four wheels and comes with new 16-inch alloy wheels.

Similar to the exterior, the manufacturer has put a lot of effort into the interior of the new Tata Punch.ev, making noticeable changes. Inside, the electric vehicle features Tata's new illuminated two-spoke steering wheel. It also has a 10.25-inch screen for the touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Further, the lower variants are being offered with a 7.0-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.
In terms of features, the four-wheeler comes with a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, connected car technology, cruise control, a wireless charger, sunroof, ventilated front seats, and the new Arcade.ev app suite, offering excellent connectivity with over-the-air updates.
For safety, Tata Punch.ev is equipped with 6 airbags, a blind-view monitor, ABS and ESC, three-point seat belts for all seats, an SOS function, and ISOFIX mounts.
Just like Tata's other electric vehicles, the Punch.ev gives you two choices for batteries. The middle-range trims feature a 25kWh battery that delivers a power output of 82 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque. It can go up to 110 km/h. The long-range variants use a 35kWh battery that produces 122 bhp power and 190 Nm peak torque, reaching a top speed of 140 km/h.
The medium-range Punch.ev can go about 315 km on a single full charge, and the long-range ones can go up to 421 km. For charging, the Punch.ev supports 50 kW DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10 to 85 percent in just 56 minutes.
Tata Motors is making electric vehicles more accessible in India with its affordable pricing. The brand has positioned Punch.ev as a cost-effective option, allowing a wider range of customers to embrace electric mobility.
Its starting price stands at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base trim (Smart), while its top-spec variant, Empowered+ is offered at Rs 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
If we talk about the base version of other electric vehicles within Tata Motors product portfolio then Nexon EV is the affordable one, priced at Rs 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom). However, its high-end variant costs Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) which is more expensive than the Punch.ev’s top trim.
So, we can say that with the combination of features and performance, Tata Punch.ev is worth its price and should be your next new car in case you are looking for something which is not only small but also SUV-type looking.
