Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

Based on the new body-on-frame platform, the Mahindra Scorpio N was introduced in India four years back. At the same time, Mahindra & Mahindra retained the older Scorpio under the Scorpio Classic nameplate. While the Scorpio N has received minor feature and variant updates over the years, it’s now set to witness the first midlife update in the coming month.

Launch Date

The carmaker is yet to announce the official launch date and details of the new Mahindra Scorpio N facelift. However, the updated SUV is expected to make its global debut on August 15 with its market launch likely to take place during the Diwali festive season later this year.

Expected Price in India

Considering the subtle changes inside and out, the MY2026 Mahindra Scorpio N is likely to witness a marginal price hike. At present, the SUV lineup is available within the price range of Rs 13.49 lakh – Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

Key Features

The new 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift is expected to come with subtle styling changes along with a handful of feature upgrades. While official details will be revealed closer to its debut, spy shots suggest that the SUV will feature a slightly revised front grille and air dam with horizontal slats, tweaked bumpers, newly-designed five-spoke alloy wheels and new LED signatures for the taillamps. Dimensionally, the SUV will remain unchanged.

Inside the cabin, the biggest upgrade will be the introduction of a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sourced from the Thar Roxx. The SUV will also get a redesigned centre console with a new stain silver surround and a new digital driver’s display.

Most of the existing features will be carried forward including a 12-speaker Sony sound system, wireless charging, powered front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, sunroof, cruise control, electronic stability control, hill hold control, Level 2 ADAS and more.

Engine Specifications

Mechanically, the new Mahindra Scorpio N is likely to remain unchanged. The SUV lineup will continue to be available with the existing 2.0L mStallion TGDi petrol and 2.2L mHawk CRDi diesel engine options. The petrol engine produces a maximum power of 200PS and 370Nm (MT)/380Nm (AT) of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission.

The 2.2L diesel engine will continue to be offered in two states of tune. The lower-specs version develops a peak power of 132PS and 300Nm of torque. It’s available only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The same diesel engine has also been tuned for generating power worth 175PS and 370Nm (MT)/400NM (AT) of torque in higher trims. Mahindra’s 4X4 drivetrain system will continue to be offered exclusively on select higher diesel variants.  

Competition

Once launched, the new 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift will continue to take on the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar. It will also face competition from the upcoming 7-seater versions of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton.
