Scorpio-N facelift arriving on August 14, 2026 Slavia facelift launching on August 18 MG to launch its 7-seater PHEV and EV in late August

August 2026 is all set to be an action-packed month for the Indian automotive market. From facelifts of popular cars to game-changing plug-in hybrid and EV, car buyers will have plenty to look forward to. Here is a quick look at three of the biggest car launches set to hit roads this August.


Mahindra Scorpio-N Facelift


Expected Launch: August 14 - 15, 2026
Estimated Price - Rs 13.50 lakh - 25 lakh


Mahindra is all set to give its “Big Daddy of SUVs” a mid-life facelift on the occasion of Independence Day, 2026. While the exterior will receive subtle tweaks - such as a revised front grille, updated alloys, and restyled bumpers - the cabin will get a massive tech upgrade. 


Key upgrades:


- The new Scorpio-N facelift will come with a panoramic sunroof. It is expected that the single-pane sunroof will be offered on the lower-spec models. 
- It will have dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment unit and digital instrument cluster. 
- The SUV is expected to get a high-definition 360-degree surround view camera, blind-view monitor, ventilated front seats, and a Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos. 
- It will continue to be offered with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines with 4WD options. 


Skoda Slavia Facelift


Expected Launch: August 18, 2026
Expected Price: Rs 10 lakh - 18.50 lakh


After introducing the updated Kushaq, Skoda is refreshing the Slavia sedan to stay competitive against the likes of the Hyundai Verna and Honda City. The updated model will receive subtle design changes and an upgraded cabin with a longer list of features. Moreover, the Slavia facelift will get an 8-speed automatic gearbox replacing the 6-speed unit in the current model. 


Key Upgrades


- The Skoda Slavia facelift will receive a redesigned front grille, updated bumper geometry, and revised LED lighting signatures front and rear. 
- Inside the cabin, the sedan is likely to get refreshed upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, rear seat massager and others. 
- It will continue to be offered with the 115hp, 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol and 150hp, 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engines. While the 1.0L will get a new 8-speed torque converter automatic unit, the 1.5L unit will have a 7-speed DSG unit. 


New MG SUV (PHEV & EV)


Expected Launch - Late August 2026
Estimated Price - Rs 22 lakh - 30 lakh


JSW MG Motor India has recently revealed its new ADAPT platform, which will be used to introduce an all-new 7-seater family SUV with multiple powertrains in India. The new SUV will be the Indianised version of the MG Starlight 560 on sale in select international markets. It will be offered with both electric and plug-in hybrid powertrain. 


What to Expect?


- The electric version will get a 69 kWh battery pack with a front-axle-mounted electric motor, and is expected to offer a claimed range of up to 600 km. 
- Its PHEV model will feature  a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine mated with an electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery pack. This setup delivers a combined power of 197bhp and 230Nm of torque. The SUV promises a claimed electric-only range of 100km and a combined range of up to 1,100km.
- This 7-seater SUV will have a wheelbase of 2810mm, which is longer than the Mahindra XUV 7XO. It will have a floating 12.8-inch central touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and LEVEL 2 ADAS.
