Next-gen Creta could get a strong hybrid engine for the first time. Bigger cabin, new platform and fresh styling are also expected. Hyundai may launch the new Creta in India next year.
Hyundai Creta has been one of the best-selling SUVs in India for years, but the competition is only getting stronger. With new models like the Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton and the next-generation Kia Seltos on the way, Hyundai is preparing a major update for its popular SUV.
The third-generation Creta is expected to arrive in India next year with a fresh design, a larger cabin, a new platform and a strong hybrid powertrain.
Spy shots suggest the next-generation Creta will look quite different from the current model. Hyundai is expected to give the SUV a more upright and boxy shape. The front could feature a wider grille, new LED headlamps and a full-width light bar, while the rear is likely to get redesigned LED tail-lamps and a more upright tailgate. The new model is also expected to be slightly larger than the current Creta, which should help improve cabin space.

Inside, Hyundai is expected to introduce a completely redesigned cabin. The SUV could get a new dashboard layout, updated seat upholstery and redesigned door trims. Larger digital displays, the latest Pleos Connect system and improved connected car features are also likely to be offered.
One of the biggest highlights could be a zero-gravity front passenger seat, similar to the one available in the Hyundai Ioniq 5. This feature is designed to improve comfort, especially during long drives.
The next-generation Creta is expected to move to Hyundai's new K3 platform, which is also expected to underpin the upcoming Kia Seltos. The new architecture is likely to improve interior space, ride quality, handling and overall safety.
The biggest mechanical update could be the addition of a strong hybrid powertrain. Reports suggest Hyundai will pair the hybrid system with the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This could help improve fuel efficiency while offering a smoother driving experience. Along with the hybrid version, Hyundai is expected to continue offering the 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options.
The third-generation Hyundai Creta is expected to make its India debut early next year. With a new platform, more cabin space, upgraded technology and the addition of a strong hybrid engine, the next-generation Creta is shaping up to be one of Hyundai's biggest launches. It will take on rivals such as the Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and Honda Elevate in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.
