Waiting for the upgraded Maruti Ertiga? Here are ‘Key Changes’ expected in 2022 Maruti Ertiga Facelift.
Following the updates to the Maruti Celerio, WagonR and the Baleno, it is now the turn of the popular MPV, Ertiga, to receive a mid-life makeover. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed the launch of the updated Ertiga in mid-April 2022. The facelift will induce a fresh lease of life to the popular MPV and help it compete against the Kia Carens latest entrant to the segment. Here are ‘key changes to watch out for’ in Ertiga Facelift.
2022 Maruti Ertiga Facelift visual updates:
As this is a mild model update, the MPV upgrades to the exterior design will be limited to a new grille like the Maruti Baleno Facelift and a new set of alloy wheels. In addition to these, the Ertiga will also receive a black strip along the top of the boot, as seen on the current generation Maruti XL6.
2022 Maruti Ertiga Facelift new gearbox:
Maruti will continue to offer the Ertiga with the familiar 1.5-litre K15B NA petrol engine with a smart hybrid vehicle system that will deliver a peak power of 104 bhp and a peak torque of 138 Nm. But the new model will ditch the 4-speed torque converter automatic in favour of a more efficient 6-speed unit. The two extra gears will help the MPV achieve better fuel economy and provide a better drive experience on the highway. The new gearbox will also help the company comply better with the CAFÉ-2 norms that have come into effect from 1 April 2022.
2022 Maruti Ertiga Facelift features and technology:
Like the direction taken with the Baleno Facelift, Maruti Suzuki will equip the Ertiga MPV with new features and technologies. In addition to features like air-cooled cup holders, a flat-bottom steering wheel with audio controls, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs and a reverse camera, we can expect the Ertiga to be offered with elements like 6-airbags, a 9-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, and HUD. There will also be an update to the connect car technology being provided with the vehicle.
2022 Maruti Ertiga Facelift Pricing:
The company is expected to keep a competitive pricing for the Ertiga Facelift considering the recent launch of Kia Carens. We expect the new gearbox and technology to increase its original price by Rs 50,000.
