Aston Martin has revealed the new Vanquish Volante, an open-top variant of the Vanquish Coupe. This particular car is a milestone for the British manufacturer, as it is the fastest and most powerful convertible to have come out of Aston Martin to date. The Vanquish Volante directly follows in the footsteps of the Vanquish Coupe, with some major modifications, the most obvious being the roof folding back. Aston Martin is going to produce less than 1,000 units of the Vanquish annually, hence it is an exclusive and limited model.
Vanquish Volante is similar to the coupe with respect to design and engine. It has a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, which has 823 bhp and 1,000 Nm torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which drives the rear wheels. The car can go from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 345th of a second behind the coupe, and reaches a top speed of 345 kmph, the highest road-approved convertible speed ever by Aston Martin.
In spite of the added load of the folding roof, weighing 95 kg more than the Volante compared to the coupe, the vehicle is still a performance car. The roof can be driven on at 50 kmph and opens or closes in 14-16 seconds. There is an optional exhaust system made of titanium, taking 10.5 kg of weight off the car.
The Vanquish Volante's body styling is a copy of the coupe and features such as the big vaned grille, diffuser styling, and quad exhaust tips. The roof is made of cloth and is driven by a K-fold mechanism. The interior of the Volante is almost identical to that of the coupe, features such as rich features and advanced technology. It features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, and a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system. It features 16-way power-adjustable sport seats and a variety of advanced driver assist features.
Volquish Volante comes with new Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers and an electronic limited-slip differential that improve handling and ride. Underbody bracing stiffens the car's chassis, which improves stiffness and stability and makes the drive as accurate as the coupe but not a hard roof. Volante has a uniquely tuned suspension that takes into consideration its own specific weight distribution.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is available for order now and deliveries will start from July to September 2025. It is expected to be priced slightly higher than the Vanquish Coupe which is on sale in India at Rs. 8.85 crore. As in all Aston Martins, the Volante will also come with extensive customisation possibilities in the company's "Q by Aston Martin" department, for customers to get their cars to look the way they desire.
In essence, the Vanquish Volante is one very fast, luxurious, and exclusive open-top GT that maintains Aston Martin's heritage of building high-performance cars with impeccable design and workmanship.
