Audi has revealed its fourth Activesphere Concept car The concept showcases the cabin of future Audis It will be based on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform
The Audi Activesphere Concept has been revealed officially. This concept comes out as the fourth and final entrant in Audi’s Sphere series of concept cars after the Grandsphere (luxury saloon), Skysphere (the convertible), and Urbansphere (the MPV). With this new concept, the brand is showcasing the new development in technology for the future of mobility. The big highlight of the luxury coupe is that it can be transformed into a pickup truck when needed. Besides, it gets the electric powertrain, Audi’s famed Quattro AWD system, incorporation of augmented reality elements that enhance the driving experience.

The new concept of Audi’s sphere measures 4,980mm in length, 2,070mm in width, and 1,600mm in height having a wheelbase of 2,970mm. The luxury coupe concept can also be transformed into a pick truck if required. According to Lichte (Audi’s designer), the Audi design evolves after every three years and the new Activesphere is giving clues as to its defining features of the next iteration. As shown in the Activesphere Concept, it gets a reshaped single-frame grille which will enhance the next generation of Audi electric vehicles. Besides, it sports a rakish silhouette, muscular rear arches and minimal creases & lines.

Moving on to the interior, the concept shows the cabin of future Audis; it adapts augmented reality for mobility. Its dimension makes the perfect combination between digital reality and surroundings at the same time. With the high-tech headsets, the user can see the control panels and other virtual displays. The concept also highlights advanced features such as the weather forecast function for selecting a route and warnings of low tyre pressure. All in all, the Audi Activesphere Concept is well suited for the high demand of the future-oriented generation of customers.

Due to its performance levels and dimensions, the new concept uses Audi’s most innovative electric drive system, PPE (Premium Platform Electric). The PPE is designed purely for the battery electric drive system. The key element of this future PPE fleet is the battery module between the axles. Audi Activesphere is offered with two electric motors; one on each axle. It generates a combined power output of 436 bhp and 720 Nm of peak torque. It can also sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.0 seconds. In addition, the static concept is said to host a battery capacity of around 100kWh.
