German automaker Audi has announced that it will launch the Q8 e-tron EV SUV in India soon. The arrival of the new electric SUV was confirmed via a teaser and it will be available in four different models; Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback, SQB e-tron, and SQ8 e-tron Sportback. All these four models will come up with refreshed designs compared to the previous generation. The new Audi Q8 e-tron lineup will get new battery packs that will enhance their performance and range.
The electric SUV will get a redesigned front grille. As stated by Audi, the redesign up front has led to the reduction in the drag coefficient of the new Q8 e-tron models from 0.28 to 0.27 for the standard variant and 0.26 to 0.24 for the Sportback variant. Talking about the rear, the manufacturer has reworked on the taillights and the LED bar. Besides, the alloy wheels have also been upgraded in the new electric SUV.
In terms of interior layout, the Q8 e-tron will feature minimal changes on the inside. Audi is claiming that recycled materials have been used on the dashboard. In addition, the new Q8 e-tron will get three screens; a 10-inch infotainment screen, a digital drive display, and a screen for climate control functions.
Concerning the electric motor and battery, the New Audi Q8 e-tron electric SUV will get a 95 kWh battery pack. Moreover, the German automaker is also claiming that the Q8 e-tron can travel up to 582 kms on one full charge. The electric SUV will produce 300 kW of maximum power and 664 Nm of peak torque. While the Sportback variant is said to offer more range than the standard variant of the Q8 e-tron. Thus the Sportback version is expected to travel up to 600 kms on single charge. Furthermore, the SQ8 will come with the largest battery pack; 370 kW of power and a massive 973 Nm of torque alongside a range of 513 kms in one full charge.
The New Q8 e-tron models are expected to appear in the Indian market by 2023. Once the electric SUV is launched, it will compete with the Mercedes Benz EQC, BMW iX EV SUV, Jaguar I-Pace, and the upcoming Mercedes EQB in its segment.
