BMW India launched its 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro at Rs. 62.60 lakh, ex-showroom. The limited edition luxury sedan would be exclusively made available with a petrol engine and assembly done at its Chennai plant. It sits one rank above the 3 Series Long Wheelbase and M Sport, marking a premium of about Rs. 2 lakh over the latter.
BMW sells its ‘M Sport’ line of cars with the 3 Series here and the debut of ‘M Sport Pro’ comes along with major changes on the outside. They include a black kidney grille, adaptive LED headlights, DRLs with turning function and a gloss black rear diffuser. ADAS with parking assist also on board. For the paint scheme, there are four colours in a metallic finish.
A major highlight inside is the curved display with BMW’s ConnectedDrive and three-dimensional navigation and instrument display (12.3 inches). There’s also a personal assistant from the brand to operate the various controls. The air vents under the display have lost weight and now look slimmer. BMW’s partnership with Harman Kardon has equipped this 3 Series with a 16-speaker setup.
With only one variant (330Li M Sport Pro) on offer, standard safety features like six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and ISOFIX child seats are offered.
Mechanicals under the hood remain the same with a 2-litre, four-cylinder block doing duty, making 258 horsepower and 400 Nm, respectively and is capable of hurling the car to the 100 kmph mark in 6.2 seconds. The real-wheel drive engine on the C-Class rival is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and works in conjunction with three driving modes - Sport, Comfort and ECOPRO.
