Car manufacturers in India have released their sales numbers for the month of July 2025. Despite challenges, most automakers have posted positive sales growth in the market. The homegrown SUV maker, Mahindra has reported an impressive 20% year-on-year sales growth. Toyota has managed to sell over 32,500 vehicles in domestic as well export markets last month.
Maruti Suzuki India has reported a total sales of 1,80,526 units in the month of July 2025, reporting a year-on-year growth of 3 percent. The company sold a total of 1,75,041 vehicles in the same month last year.
In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki dispatched 1,37,776 units to dealers in July 2025 compared to 1,37,463 units in the year-ago month. Sales of small cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, declined to 6,822 units. In the same month last year, MSIL sold 9960 units of the Alto K10 and S-Presso.
The compact cars (Baleno, Dzire, Ignis and Swift) sales increased to 65,667 units from 58,682 units in July 2024. MSIL sold 12,341 units of the Eeco Van last month as against 11,916 units in July last year. In the UV segment, MSIL sold a total of 52,773 vehicles last month as against 56,302 units in the same month last year. However, MSIL exports increased to 31,745 units in July 2025 as against 23,935 units in the same month last year.
The homegrown UV maker has reported an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 20 percent in domestic passenger vehicle segment in July 2025. The company sold a total of 49,871 SUVs in July in domestic market, and its total sales, including exports, stood at 50,835 units.
Commenting on the sales, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd, said, “In July, we achieved SUV sales of 49,871 units, a growth of 20%, and total vehicle sales of 83,691 units, a 26% growth compared to the same month last year. Our SUV growth has been supported by the recent launch of XUV 3XO ‘REVX’ Series & the commencement of deliveries for Pack two variants of the BE 6 and XEV 9e models.”
Tata Motors sold a total of 40,175 passenger cars in the month of July 2025 as against 44,725 units in the same month last year. The company has reported a Year-on-Year sales decline of 12 percent. In the domestic market, the company sold 39521 units while the exports stood at 654 units.
The big update is that the company’s EV sales increased by good 42 percent. Tata Motors sold 7124 electric vehicles in July 2025 as against 5027 units in the same month last year.
Hyundai Motor India Limited has reported a total monthly sales of 60,073 units in July 2025, reporting a YoY sales decline of 7 percent. The company sold a total of 64,563 vehicles in July 2024.
In the domestic market, Hyundai India dispatched 43,973 vehicles in the month of July 2025 as against 49,013 vehicles in the same month, 2024. The company reported a domestic YoY sales decline of 10 percent. However, Hyundai India exports increased to 16100 units in July 2025 as compared to 15,550 units in the year-ago period.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced its sales numbers for the month of July 2025. The company sold a total of 32,575 vehicles (Domestic + Exports) as against 31,656 units in July 2024, reporting a YoY sales growth of 3 percent. Toyota dispatched 29,159 units in the domestic market, while 3416 units were exported.
In the first 4 months of FY26, Mahindra sold a total of 1,19,632 vehicles as against 104,861 units in the same period last financial year - reporting an impressive YoY sales growth of 14%.
Commenting on the sales performance, Varinder Wadhwa, VP, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, said, “We are pleased to report a growth of 3% in July 2025 by selling 32,575 units. Overall, market acceptance has been consistent for us, which goes to underpin our unwavering commitment to a customer-centric approach. Our focus will remain on continuing to serve the market with high quality products and enhanced value-added services through enhanced reach which we believe will serve as the key growth drivers in the month ahead.”
Kia India sold a total of 22, 135 vehicles in July 2025 as against 20,507 vehicles in the same month last year. The company has reported a YoY sales growth of 8 percent. The Korean brand has been consistently reporting positive growth throughout this year.
The company sold a total of 163,439 cars between January and July 2025 as compared to 146,644 vehicles in the same period last year. Kia has reported an impressive 11.45% sales jump in the first seven months of 2025 compared to the corresponding period in 2024. Kia India exported 2,590 units in July 2025.
JSW MG Motor India has registered a monthly sales of 6678 units in July 2025 as against 4,575 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 46 percent. The company has recently launched two new luxury products under the new luxury sales channel MG Select. The MG M9 Presidential Limousine is available at a price tag of Rs 69.90 lakh, while the MG Cyberster two-door electric sports roadster launched at Rs 74.99 lakh.
