Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch its new E-Class by the end of this year. According to the dealer sources, the official bookings of the new E-Class LWB will commence in September 2024. Upon launch, it will be a direct rival to BMW 5 Series and Audi 6.
The Long Wheel Base E-Class is sold in Indian and Chinese markets. In India, it is sold in Right-Hand-Drive form while China has the Left Hand Drive E-Class LWB. However, in China, it is available only in petrol engines while the Indian model could have both petrol and diesel choices.
Further, the car made its global debut last year, which gave us hints at its design features. It is likely to get two designs for the front grille - the one with the three-pointed star in the centre and another one is the other one with a smaller logo on the bonnet.
Previous sightings have already indicated that the upcoming E-Class will have new front and rear bumper, dual-tone alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, and larger LED headlamps and tail lights. Inside, it may come up with premium features such as four-zone climate control, MBUX superscreen, dual-tone upholstery, active ambient lighting, a Burmester-sourced music system, and more.
The 6th gen E-Class is offered with multiple engine options. However, the India-spec model could come equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and diesel engine paired with a mild hybrid system.
