French automaker, Renault is planning to launch 3 new SUVs, including the refreshed Kiger, third-generation Duster and an all-new 7-seater SUV. The new Kiger will launch on August 24, while the new Duster will arrive in early 2026. A new Duster based 7-seater SUV will also be launched by mid next year, which has been caught testing a couple of times on the Indian roads.
Renault India has confirmed that the new Duster and 7-seater SUVs will be launched in the country in 2026. While the new Duster will arrive in the first quarter of 2026, the Duster 7-seater India launch is expected in mid-2026 - around July-August. Both SUVs will be produced at Renault’s Chennai based manufacturing plant.
The new Renault Duster 7-seater will come as a serious contender to the likes of the Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV700. We expect the new SUV to cost somewhere around Rs 16 lakh to Rs 26 lakh.

The new 7-seater SUV could be called the Renault Boreal in India. It is basically the 7-seater avatar of the Dacia Bigster/Renault Boreal on sale in select international markets. Based on the CMF-B modular platform, the new Boreal is a 5-seater SUV; however, the India-spec model will be a 3-row 7-seater SUV.
The Renault Boreal measures 4,556mm in length, 2,082mm in width and 1,650mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,702mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 213mm. It is expected that the India-spec model will be around 4.7 meters in length to free up more space in the third-row. Renault has already said that it will not be just a Duster with 2 extra seats in third-row. It will be a proper 7-seater SUV with generous space for all occupants.
The new Renault 7-seater Duster will be equipped with several modern comfort and convenience features. It will have dual 10-inch screens for infotainment and driver’s display, premium sound system, LED mood lighting, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, 360-degree panoramic view, and a panoramic sunroof.
For safety and security, the SUV will get multiple airbags, ESP, hill launch and descent control, hands-free parking, adaptive full LED headlights, 360-degree panoramic view and many more. The 3-row SUV will also come with advanced driver assistance system with features like lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, occupant safe exit alert, reverse cross traffic alert, automatic emergency braking system, traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness and attention warning and adaptive cruise control.
The new 7-seater Duster will be powered by a 1.3-litre, turbocharged direct injection engine that produces 156hp and 270Nm of torque. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-seed automatic double wet clutch EDC. The SUV will also receive a hybrid derivative in 2027. The hybrid version could get a 108bhp petrol engine, paired to a 51bhp electric motor, a starter generator and a small 1.4kWh battery. The combined power output is around 155bhp.
