Two of the most-awaited SUVs, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris (Escudo) and new-gen Hyundai Venue, are ready to go on sale in our market. While the Maruti Suzuki Escudo will arrive on September 3, 2025, the next-gen Hyundai Venue will launch in our market on October 24. Let’s talk about these two upcoming SUVs in detail -
Launch Date - September 3, 2025
Estimated Price - Rs 10.5 lakh - Rs 18 lakh
Competition - Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos
Engine - 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L hybrid and CNG

Rumoured to be called the Victoris (Escudo), the upcoming Maruti Suzuki midsize SUV will be exclusively sold through NEXA premium dealership network. This SUV will be based on Suzuki’s Global C platform that also underpins the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It will come with 3 engine choices, including petrol, CNG and hybrid.
The Escudo will be powered by a tried & tested 102bhp, 1.5L, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated mild hybrid petrol engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The automatic version could also get an AWD set-up. In the CNG mode, the same powertrain offers 88bhp of power.
The new Maruti Suzuki Victoris (Escudo) will get the 116bhp, 1.5L TNGA petrol-electric hybrid engine, which currently powers the Grand Vitara Hybrid and offers 27.97kmpl of mileage.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Victoris (Escudo) is likely to be equipped with several high-end comfort and convenience features, including a powered tailgate and Dolby Atmos audio technology for an immersive sound experience. It could be the first Maruti product to get LEVEL 2 ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, auto high beam and others. Other features could include panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, a larger touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and others.
Launch Date - October 24, 2025
Estimated Price - Rs 8 lakh - Rs 14.5 lakh
Competition - Kia Syros, Maruti Brezza and Mahindra XUV 3XO
Engine - 1.2L NA petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel

First launched in 2019, the Hyundai Venue compact SUV will enter the second generation in October 2025. The SUV has been spotted testing numerous times on the Indian roads. Its spy images reveal that the new Venue will retain the boxy styling and will share design elements with the Alcazar.
The Majority of the changes will be made inside the cabin, as it will get several advanced tech and safety features. The new Venue is likely to get dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and driver’s display, a new steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front and rear seats with sliding and reclining function. The SUV will come with 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree surround view camera, ESP, hill launch assist and LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
The new-gen Hyundai Venue is expected to retain its existing engine options, including a 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel. The SUV could also get a factory-fitted CNG kit. The diesel version could also get an automatic gearbox option.
