Tata Motors sold nearly 60,000 electric cars in 2023, with the Nexon EV being its bestseller in the segment. In the much-anticipated release of the Curvv EV, whose launch will follow diesel and petrol iterations of the SUV, Tata aims to target the C-segment and will rival MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric. Though there have been multiple images and design leaks of the Curvv EV doing rounds on the internet, Tata has shed some light on the interior bits of the upcoming electric SUV.
Drawing cues from the Nexon EV, the Curvv EV will feature a resolutely modern and uncluttered design, merging state-of-the-art onboard technologies. Reportedly, there’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen, touch-enabled climate control panel and large panoramic sunroof connecting the roofline with the rear spoiler, helping it to maintain its SUV coupe silhouette in line with the brand’s philosophy of #DifferentbyDesign.
Based on Tata’s Gen2 platform, the electric five-seater is expected to deliver a range of up to 500 kilometres. The platform is expected to be high on safety and score high once it's sent for GNCAP testing, just like its siblings. Its motor and battery specifications are still under wraps.
Launch of the Tata Curvv EV is slated for the second half of 2024, followed by its diesel and petrol iterations. According to our estimates, the EV should cost upwards of Rs 20 lakh.
