The excitement around the Tata Sierra doesn’t seem to be fading. After launching the 2025 Sierra (ICE) model at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), Tata Motors is already planning the next big things for the Sierra SUV. The electric variant is expected to arrive by early 2026, while the AWD version is on the horizon by 2027. And that’s not all; there are also plans for a 7-seater and CNG versions, adding even more options to the Sierra lineup.

At the moment, the Tata Sierra is available as a 5-seater SUV. Tata’s highly anticipated ICE model has been launched with a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Full price list for all variants will be revealed by the next month.
The Sierra offers a bold and rugged design with a spacious interior. It comes equipped with advanced features and technology, making it a competitive player in the midsize SUV market. However, this is just the beginning. Tata has exciting plans to expand the Sierra family with more variants and configurations.

While the 5-seater version is available right now, Tata Motors is exploring the possibility of a 7-seater version. Thanks to the ARGOS platform (Tata’s flexible architecture), adding a third row to the Sierra is not a technical challenge. In fact, the long wheelbase of the Sierra and its spacious design make it well-suited for a 7-seater layout.
Tata is waiting to see how the market responds to the 5-seater before committing to the 7-seater. If the response is positive, the 7-seater Sierra may be positioned just below the Tata Safari in the lineup. The 7-seater variant would be perfect for larger families who need extra space without stepping up to a larger SUV.

The future of the Tata Sierra looks even more exciting with the AWD (All-Wheel Drive) and CNG variants being planned.
Sierra AWD Version:
The AWD variant will first arrive with the electric Sierra model, expected in 2026. It could feature a dual-motor configuration similar to the Harrier EV, offering better traction and off-road capability. The AWD model of the ICE variant will likely be launched within the next 12-18 months.
Sierra CNG Variant:
Tata is also exploring a CNG version of the Sierra. As CNG vehicles are gaining popularity in the mid-size SUV segment, this could provide a more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient alternative for those who drive long distances frequently.
Tata Sierra 2025 will benefit from the new ARGOS platform, which is designed to be modular and flexible. This platform can support various powertrains like petrol, diesel, CNG, and even hybrid engines. This flexibility gives Tata the freedom to develop multiple versions of the Sierra, whether it’s the standard ICE, a more fuel-efficient CNG variant, or a powerful AWD version.
With the ARGOS platform, Tata can easily create vehicles that meet different customer needs without needing big changes to the structure. This makes the Sierra perfect for future upgrades and new versions.
New Tata Sierra will be available in a range of striking colours. It offers six stunning monotone exterior colours - Pristine White, Coorg Clouds, Pure Grey, Bengal Rouge, Andaman Adventure, and Munnar Mist.
When it comes to the base model vs top model, the base version of the Sierra will likely come with standard features like an infotainment system, premium upholstery, and spacious seating. The top model is expected to include additional features like AWD, a premium sound system, and advanced driver assistance technologies. So, whether you're looking for a more affordable option or a fully loaded, high-performance version, the Sierra has something for everyone.
If you’re eager to get your hands on the new Tata Sierra, here’s some good news: Tata Sierra 2025 bookings are set to open on December 16, 2025. This gives you the chance to reserve your model before the official deliveries start, which are expected to begin in mid-January 2026. The full price list for all variants will be released next month, giving you more details on the different configurations.
