The electric vehicle segment is currently dominated by SUVs including the Nexon EV, Punch EV and the MG ZS EV. The trend is likely to continue, as more manufacturers will launch new electric SUVs in our market. In this article, we talk about the upcoming mid-sized electric SUVs that will be launched in our country in the next 1-2 years.

Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai is testing the much-awaited Creta EV on the Indian roads. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the new electric SUV will look different from the existing ICE model. The big change will be made inside the cabin, as it will draw inspiration from the global-spec Kona EV.

Not just the interior, the electric powertrain will also be similar to the Kona EV. It is likely to be fitted with a 45kWh battery pack and a front-axle mounted permanent magnet electric motor.

In terms of design elements, it will be quite similar to the Creta facelift. However, Hyundai will give a few design updates to give it an EV look. The SUV will feature a closed-off grille, new front & rear bumper, and all-new aero-optimized alloy wheels. Hyundai will most probably unveil its Creta EV at the Bharat Mobility Show in early 2025.
