Tata Curvv Concept

Curvv

First up is the Tata Curvv Concept. It was unveiled last year however the automaker since then has made a lot of advancements and now is showcasing it at the motor show. This concept previews Tata’s new ‘Digital’ design language that will be used by future SUVs, with the first model to arrive within the next two years.

Visually, the Tata Curvv looks menacing with its full-length LED light bar, triangular headlight housings and a sculpted front bumper while the side profile features squared-off wheel arches and a coupe-like roofline. Talking about the rear, it provides full-width LED tail lights, triangular air vents, and a notchback-style boot.

The interior is not accessible however the cabin of the Curvv concept incorporates a multi-layer dashboard with a LED light strip running right across. It is said to feature a dual free-standing digital screen setup for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. The floating centre-console houses the climate control buttons, centre armrest and a rotary gear selector.

The Curvv is underpinned by Tata Generation 2 EV platform that can accommodate multiple powertrain options and body styles. The production version can be fitted with a dual electric motor AWD setup that will offer a range of between 400 to 500 kms, with the automaker expected to introduce an ICE-powered option at a later stage.

Tata Avinya EV Concept

Avinya

Alongside the Curvv Concept, the Avinya EV Concept has also made its appearance at the exhibition. It gives an insight into the brand's current development of the Concept which was unveiled for the first time last year. The concept features a future-ready minimalistic design with its slim headlights, LED light bar that looks like a stretched T, and an unique looking front-grille/air dam. The side profile features a prominent shoulder line and you will also notice the glass roof and blacked-out A pillars. Moving to the rear, it offers LED tail lights that span the width of the car.

Besides the exterior look, the other thing that will catch your attention in the electric vehicle concept is the slim display that is integrated into the dashboard. There is a small screen on each side of the dashboard that shows the wing-mounted camera feed. The vehicle also gets an integrated screen in the steering wheel and comes with next-generation connectivity options as well as ADAS tech.

The Avinya EV Concept is built on Tata’s Generation 3 bespoke EV platform that allows the automaker more freedom and removes certain constraints when designing a new electric car. While the automaker did not mention any powertrain details, it confirmed the next-generation of EVs based on the Avinya will offer a range of 500 kms and support ultra-fast charging.

Tata Harrier EV

Harrier EV

With a focus on EV’s, Tata Motors also showcased the Harrier EV Concept. What it exhibits is the flexibility of the brand’s ‘Born Electric’ platform, which is compatible with multiple seating configurations and body styles.

Design-wise, the Harrier EV looks very different from its ICE-powered sibling. The front-end gets a closed-off grille that is flanked with LED DRLs while the headlights have a new triangular design. The side profile stays similar while the rear end gets an LED light bar that runs the width of the SUV.

Tata Motors did not reveal or allow us to have a look at the interior of the electric concept. However what we can predict is that it could come with next-gen connectivity options and tech, ADAS features alongside a lounge-like layout.

No powertrain details have been revealed, but the electrification of the Harrier and Safari, which is underpinned by the Omega Arc platform, can prove to be difficult. Reports suggest that Tata may launch the Harrier EV by around early 2025.

Tata Sierra EV Concept

Sierra

Tata also showcased the close-to-production version of the iconic Sierra electric SUV. The automaker confirmed that the Sierra will be launched by 2025 and will become the new company flagship.

The Sierra EV uses Tata’s latest Impact 2.0 design language. The front-end gets an upright, flat bonnet with the faux grille and LED headlights sitting below. The side profile is instantly recognizable with its curved-over side windows. Unlike the last concept’s 3-door body style, this year’s concept is a 5-door model with blacked-out C and D pillars. Further there are dual-tone alloy wheels on offer. Inside, the Sierra gets a swivelling front seat which coupled with the rear bench, offers a lounge-like seating area.

Whenever Tata decides to launch the Sierra, we can expect it to be offered in both ICE and electric versions.

Tata Altroz/Punch i-CNG

Altroz iCNG

Alongside the EV concepts, Tata also unveiled the CNG versions of the Altroz hatchback and Punch mini-SUV. While the automaker did not reveal a launch date, we expect the Altroz i-CNG to be introduced in a couple of months from now. The Punch i-CNG can be expected around this festive season alongside the Tata Altroz Racer which is also on show at the pavilion.

Punch i CNG

The Punch CNG looks very similar to the regular model except for some sporty red accents, with the biggest change to its powertrain. It is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre three-pot Revotron motor that would make around 70 to 75 bhp in the CNG mode. The automaker is likely to only offer a manual gearbox with this model. Mileage is expected to be around 30 km/kg.

Like the Punch, the Altroz CNG will feature no big design changes. The 1.2-litre turbocharged engine will be paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The motor will likely see a slight power drop of around 10 to 15 bhp when running on CNG. It is expected to be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
