Ahead of the beginning of festive season (Diwali season), car manufacturers have launched some of the new exciting models, including facelifts of popular cars in the Indian market. While Honda has launched the 2026 Elevate facelift at a starting price of Rs 11.80 lakh, Skoda released the prices of the Slavia facelift (priced from Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom).
While both cars fall in a same budget range, they belong to two completely different segments: the Honda Elevate is a practical midsize SUV, and the Slavia is a midsize sedan. If you are confused about which model fits your daily needs best, here is a comparison to help you choose.
High Ground Clearance: the SUV comes with a ground clearance of 220mm. The Elevate easily glides through deep potholes, speed breakers, and waterlogged roads.
Upright Driving Position: the SUV offers the driver a commanding view of the road. The upright driving position makes driving and maneuvering very easy in crowded city traffic. Adding to it, the easy step-in height makes ingress-egress easy.
Elegant Styling: it comes with sharper LED headlights, a signature Skoda grille, and a sportier coupe-like roofline.
Large Boot Space: the sedan offers a massive 521-litres of boot space, making it a highway cruiser capable of taking large luggage for long family trips.
Excellent drivability: thanks to the low-slung comfort, the Skoda Slavia feels more planted on highways. However, getting in and out requires bending down slightly more compared to an SUV.
Both cars take very different approaches in terms of powertrain. While Honda Elevate relies on the tried & tested 1.5-litre I-VTEC engine, the Skoda Slavia targets performance buyers who love driving fast on open highways.
The Elevate offers stress-free, reliable engine that delivers smooth power in city traffic without turbo lag. On the other hand, the Slavia’s 1.5L TSI engine with the DSG gearbox offers class-leading power and performance. Additionally, the new 8-speed automatic gearbox on the 1.0L variant improves city smoothness significantly.
The updated SUV now equipped with a 360-degree surround view camera, ventilated front and rear seats, powered driver and co-driver seats, and an updated ADAS safety suite. The SUV retains its spacious rear seat with ample headroom and legroom space.
The updated Slavia gets an improved cabin material and digital instrument console, ventilated and powered front seats, and a segment-first rear massage seats. The sedan comes with solid build quality with a premium European dashboard feel.
Honda Elevate: this SUV offers 6 standard airbags, Honda Sensing (LEVEL 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking, low speed follow and others), and a 360-degree surround view camera.
Skoda Slavia: Based on the MQB AO IN platform, the sedan scored a full 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. It comes with 6 airbags, Hill Hold Control, and Electronic Stability Control. The sedan misses out on ADAS tech.
Buy the Honda Elevate if you want an SUV that can deal with broken roads or monsoon flooding regularly and need maximum ground clearance. It also promises the low long-term maintenance costs, thanks to the reliable 1.5L i-VTEC engine and smooth CVT automatic gearbox. This SUV also offers an upright driving position with great visibility and easy ingress and egress.
Buy the Skoda Slavia Facelift is you love classic sedans, thrilling highway performance and sharp high-speed cornering. This model offers a large boot space that can carry heavy luggage.
