According to a report, the country’s automotive segment sold over 11.4 lakh units to generate a total revenue of Rs 1.3 lakh crore at an average ticket size of Rs 11.5 lakh. These numbers came as a sigh of relief for the segment that was plagued with semiconductor shortages and long lead times for over two years.

Tata Nexon remained the top-selling model for the company and the best seller in the sub-compact SUV segment with a 16,887 units sold. The facelift and the flexibility with multiple powertrain options majorly helped the Nexon maintain its position as the leader and Tata expects sales to steadily increase for the model in the coming months. Despite stiff competition from Hyundai Exter, the Punch managed a 39 percent increase in sales to 15,317 units becoming the second best-selling model for the company.
