The Skoda Kodiaq will undoubtedly find great interest in India’s SUV market. It can show quite the capability of combining smart design, functionality, and innovation. The next-gen Skoda Kodiaq is expected to launch in early 2025. It is expected to have a starting price of Rs. 40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be offered in both 5 and 7-seater layouts.
The Skoda Kodiaq is offered in multiple powertrain options. The first one is a 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine with a power of 150PS. A 2-litre turbo petrol engine with the power of 204PS. A 2-litre diesel engine with the power of 150PS/193PS. The last 1.5-litre turbo petrol plug-in hybrid engine has a 25.7kWh battery pack and power of 204PS.

The Skoda Kodiaq offers two types of infotainment systems. The standard 10” Skoda infotainment and the optional 13” Skoda Navigation. The Canton Sound System and head-up display can be added as part of optional packages. The Kodiaq features a phone box with wireless charging and cooling for two phones.
It is equipped with as standard four fast-charging USB-C ports (45W), two in the front and two in the back. There is a fifth USB-C port (15W) in the rearview mirror for charging a dash cam. The Kodiaq offers a red SOS button, which immediately calls for help if you are involved in or witness a serious road accident.
The front door umbrella storage compartment is also available. It also offers a powered front seat with cooling and heating functions, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

The exterior view of Kodiaq just goes to prove the design skills of Skoda. Crisp, elegant lines, a characteristic light signature, and black-grained plastic elements make for a robustly dynamic look. Anyhow, up to 20-inch wheels complement the stylish yet timeless design of the Kodiaq.

In Kodiaq, the occupants are protected by up to 9 airbags that work in tandem with the seat belts. The ISOFIX and Top Tether systems are used to improve the protection of children in infant carriers. It also includes crew protection assistance, ESC, ABS, a 360-degree view camera, an ADAS feature, and a tyre pressure monitor system.
The front assist with Predictive Pedestrian and Cyclist Protection can alert you or stop the car in the event of an imminent collision with another vehicle or person. Side assist detects vehicles approaching from behind or in the car’s blind spot up to 70m away.

The Skoda Kodiaq will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster.
