With the launch of the Skoda Slavia facelift, buyers looking for a fully-loaded sedan are normally opted or the top-end variant of the lineup. The Czech automaker is offering two distinct flagship variants: the Prestige and the motorsport inspired Monte Carlo. If you are confused between these two top trims, the main question is: what extra features do you get with the Monte Carlo, and is it really worth the higher price?

While the price gap is Rs 40,000 on the 1.0L AT, it came down to just Rs 25,000 on the 1.5L TSI DSG. On-road price difference could be around Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on state RTO taxes.

The primary difference between these two variants is visual styling and road presence. The Prestige variant appeals to buyers who prefer a classic, elegant design with plenty of premium chrome detailings. On the other hand, the Slavia Monte Carlo offers an aggressive look with black accents, sporty red brake calibers and dark alloy wheels.


Interior: Dual-Tone Vs Stealth Red/Black


The cabin layout and equipment are identical in terms of technology in both variants. However, the different color palette completely transforms the appeal and driving feel.


Slavia Prestige Cabin


It comes with Classic Beige-and-Black dual-tone interior scheme with subtle copper accents, monotone dark leatherette upholstery with ventilation for front occupants and a 10.25-inch digital instrument console with clean and executive graphics.


Monte Carlo Cabin


This sport variant comes with all-black interior scheme with contrasting red dashboard highlights and red door trims. It features black leatherette sports seats with contrast red stitching and red seat inserts with MONTE CARLO embossed on it. The same instrument console gets red color theme for sporty touch. It also gets sporty aluminium pedals.


Tech and Comfort


Both the Prestige and Monte Carlo variants are equipped with Skoda’s latest comfort and convenience features. Key features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Google AI assistant integration, a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit, a 360-degree camera, a segment-first rear seat massage function, ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, 6 airbags, ABS, ESC and others.


Performance and Mechanics


Both Prestige and Monte Carlo variants are offered with 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol engines. The former is good for 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, and is paired with 6-speed manual or an 8-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5L TSI engine with Active Cylinder Technology, is capable of producing 150 PS and 250 Nm, and is paired with 7-speed DSG.


Suspension & Ride: suspension tuning, ground clearance, steering feel and feedback, and braking hardware remains the same.

Buy the Skoda Slavia Prestige is you prefer an executive sedan with classic chrome touches, lighter airier cabin feel and wants to save Rs 25,000 - 40,000.


Buy the Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo is you want to drive home a sporty looking sedan with striking all-black cabin complemented by red touches.
