Hyundai to Launch Genesis brand in India in 2027 BYD's luxury brand, Denza official entry by year-end
The Indian luxury car segment is all set to witness the arrival of two new car manufactures, including the Genesis and Denza by the end of 2027. While BYD will introduce the DENZA within the next few months, Hyundai will introduce its luxury vehicle brand - the Genesis before the end of 2027. These two manufacturers will target different set of buyers, but will act as a luxury brand for existing car manufacturers in India.
Hyundai has officially announced to introduce its luxury brand Genesis for India. Scheduled to be introduced in 2027, Genesis will rival the likes of BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz along with Volvo Cars and Lexus. Hyundai hasn’t shared the full lineup yet, but SUVs like the Genesis GV70 and Genesis GV80 are expected to be the first to launch in India. Genesis is expected to bring different engine options, including petrol, hybrid and electric. These cars are likely to come through the CKD route, which means they will be assembled in India.

The luxury brand of the Chinese carmaker BYD, the Denza will finally make its entry in the Indian market by the end of this year. Denza will initially launch two luxury vehicles, including the Denza D9 luxury MPV and the Z9 GT Shooting Brake. Set to be positioned above the BYD in India, the Denza lineup will be priced above Rs 80 lakh price point.
The Denza D9 executive MPV will be positioned between the MG M9 and the Toyota Vellfire in the luxury MPV segment. Measuring 5250mm in length, the D9 luxury MPV offers a luggage carrying capacity of 410-litres expandable by up to 2310-litres. It is packed with a 103.36 kWh battery pack paired with 308 hp, front electric motor offering 360 Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 9.5 seconds. The MPV offers a pure electric range of up to 600 km on a single charge.
The Z9 GT will be a high performance electric fastback, which comes with a triple-motor setup and produces a massive 1156 hp and 1210 Nm of torque. It is packed with a 122.5 kWh battery pack. This high-performance electric fastback accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 2.7 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 270kmph.
