First launched in 2010, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 comes as a more powerful variant of the Alto model. The company briefly discontinued the model before introducing the new-gen Alto K10 in 2022. It is currently one of the most popular choices among the first time car buyers in India.
The new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is known for its reliability, affordability, Spacious cabin, robust engine performance and efficiency. In this article, we talk about the top reasons to buy Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 entry-level hatchback as your first new car.

Maruti Suzuki Cars are always known for their low maintenance cost and excellent after sales. The wide service network and availability of components makes Alto K10 one of the cheapest cars to maintain in the country.

Despite measuring 3.5 meters in length, the new Alto K10 promises decent space to accommodate 4 adults. The current model is an all-new product and has not shared anything with the previous model. Maruti Suzuki has completely re-designed the cabin to create more space. In fact, 6 feet tall people can sit easily and that offers decent head room and knee room.
The new Alto K10 also comes with 15+ safety features such as dual front airbags, rear door child lock, high-speed alert, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and others.
The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is one of the most affordable cars on sale in the country, making it a popular choice among first-time new car buyers. This entry-level hatchback is available in the price bracket of Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom).
Along with the peppy performance, the Maruti Alto K10 also offers an impressive fuel efficiency. The petrol version is claimed to offer an impressive ARAI certified mileage of 24.3kmpl. In real world conditions, customers can easily extract around 20-21kmpl. The CNG version is even more efficient with a claimed mileage of 33.85km/kg.

The new Maruti Alto K10 is powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the S-Presso and the Celerio. This powertrain is capable of producing 66bhp and 89Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit.
While the power and torque figures are decent, the new Alto K10 shines when it comes to handling Indian road conditions. Thanks to lighter weight and good engine, the new Alto K10 offers peppy performance. The new model can easily hit 100kmph, which allows the driver to overtake slow moving cars without much issue.
It also gets a CNG version, which is powered by the same 1.0L engine. In the CNG mode, the powertrain produces 56bhp and 82.1Nm of torque. It is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox
