The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is getting aggressive with its product strategy for the domestic market. The company is preparing a wide range of new SUVs, including two all-new sub-4 meter models. In fact, Mahindra officials confirmed that the brand’s next aim is to grab good market share in the compact segment. The next big launch from the homegrown automaker will be the production version of the Mahindra Vision S concept.
In fact, Mahindra has started testing the Vision S SUV with production-ready body panels. The new model is most likely to be the smallest model in the Scorpio family, and rumoured to be called the Scorpio Sport. In this article, we talk about key aspects, including the engine options, design and other details of the upcoming Vision S SUV.

Mahindra has confirmed that the new Vision concepts based SUV will start arriving from 2027. It is expected that the production version of the Vision S will be revealed sometime in 2026, while its launch could take place in early 2027.

The spy images reveal that the Mahindra Vision S production model will continue to offer boxy silhouette. In terms of styling, the rugged-looking SUV gets an upright glasshouse, squared wheel arches, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and short overhangs.
The front fascia comes with a signature Mahindra grille with vertical slats, and a circular-shaped headlamps. On the side, the SUV gets smoother surfaces with no sharp creases and curves. It comes with large alloys and a strong shoulder line. At the back, the SUV gets tall vertical lamps, rugged lower bumper, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

The official interior images and spy images reveal that the Vision S gets a newly designed dashboard layout. It comes with dual digital screens separated from each other by an AC vent. The SUV gets physical buttons for multiple functions, and a climate control interface. There is a new three-spoke round steering wheel with haptic controls for the steering mounted functions.
The SUV will be based on the brand’s new NU.IQ modular platform, which is compatible with ICE, hybrid and EV powertrains. It is expected to be offered with 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines. The company has confirmed that the Vision concept based SUVs will come with an electric powertrain.
Mahindra has also confirmed that the NU.IQ is a hybrid-ready platform, and the Vision S based baby Scorpio could get a hybrid powertrain. The company is reportedly using the 1.2L turbo petrol engine for its new hybrid engine.
