Kia is preparing to bring the 2026 Sorento 7-seater SUV to India. The SUV has been spotted testing in India for the first time, indicating that it’s set to launch sometime in 2026. The Sorento will sit above the Seltos and Carens in Kia’s portfolio, competing in the premium SUV segment.

The 2026 Kia Sorento will feature a bold, boxy design, with squared wheel arches, a tall bonnet, and a flat tailgate that enhance its rugged road presence. Spy shots reveal large 19-inch alloy wheels, which suggest the India-spec model will be built for both comfort and performance. Signature features like T-shaped LED DRLs and connected tail lamps are expected, along with a wide rear profile that signals its proper three-row SUV proportions.
Internationally, the Sorento comes with multiple engine options, including a 2.5-litre petrol, a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol, and hybrid powertrains. In India, Kia is likely to focus on the hybrid variants, given the shift towards greener, more fuel-efficient vehicles. While a petrol-only option may be available, the diesel variant is unlikely to make it to India.
Inside, the Sorento will offer a tech-forward, premium cabin. Spy images show a rotary gear selector, which is typical of the hybrid versions available internationally. The Sorento is expected to feature a dual 12.3-inch display with Kia’s ccNC infotainment system, connected car technology, and over-the-air updates. Premium touches like soft-touch materials, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof will be available, with higher trims likely featuring a Bose sound system.
The 2026 Kia Sorento is expected to be packed with advanced safety features. ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced collision avoidance will likely be included. The spacious cabin will be designed for family comfort, offering multi-zone climate control, USB ports in every row, and ample legroom for long journeys.
When it launches, the Kia Sorento will compete with other premium SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq. The pricing is expected to fall between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and powertrain. Kia’s entry into the premium 7-seater segment will offer Indian buyers another strong option in the competitive SUV market.
