After the successful launch of the fourth-gen Swift hatchback, Maruti is preparing to introduce the new-gen Dzire sedan in India. Based on the latest Swift, the upcoming Dzire will feature an all-new design, features, and specifications. It is expected to be launched later this year, most likely by August-September 2024.
Ahead of its official launch, the next-gen sedan has been spied multiple times on roads. In fact, a YouTube video posted by Theottle posted the design of the upcoming Dzire.
Here are the key details about the new Maruti Dzire one should know:
The upcoming sedan will get an all-new front fascia with a fresh grille and bumper. It is also likely to feature sleek LED headlights and LED DRLs. Other exterior design highlights might include new machined alloy wheels, updated bumper, and re-designed LED taillights.
The interior design of the new-gen Dzire will be inspired by Maruti Fronx and Baleno. Dspite being based on the Swift, it is likely to get more features than the hatchback. Some of the segment-first features such as a single-pane sunroof and a 360-degree camera are expected to be on offer.
Like the Swift hatchback, the compact sedan will get the Z-Series 1.2-litre petrol engine, replacing its old K Series 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit. However, the new Z-Series is a 3-cylinder unit that can deliver 82 bhp of power and 108 Nm of torque. It is said that the mild hybrid unit might also be available with the DC synchronous motor that can boost the power with 3.1 bhp and 60 Nm.
The current Dzire is priced between Rs 6.57 lakh to Rs 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom). For the upcoming compact sedan, Maruti could hike the price. It is expected to fall in the range of Rs 7 kah to Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
2024 Maruti Dzire will be a great challenge for the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura in the segment.
