This Independence Day, Mahindra launched its 5-door Thar Roxx with standout features over the 3-door Thar. The brand took a different approach for the larger Thar by providing two types of sunroofs - a single-pane and panoramic. Based on the ladder-frame chassis, the Thar Roxx is the first vehicle to come with the largest panoramic sunroof in the segment.
After the hype around the Thar Roxx, Indian customers started praising Tata Nexon CNG, launched a few days back at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Following a similar approach as Mahindra, Tata Motors also offered two different types of sunroof options for the CNG-powered Nexon.
However, it is important to note that the aforementioned automakers offer a single-pane sunroof in the lower variants while the top-spec models get a panoramic sunroof. Some of the variants might come with no sunroof options at all.
Mahindra Thar Roxx has 6 variants - MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L, and AX7L. The Single Pane Sunroof is available in MX5 and AX5L while the Panoramic Sunroof is only offered with AX7L trim.
On the other hand, Tata Nexon CNG is available in 8 variants - Smart (O), Smart+, Smart+ S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+, and Fearless+ PS. The brand offers two options for sunroof with voice assistance. The Smart + S and Pure S get Voice Assisted Electric Sunroof while the Voice Assisted Electric Panoramic Sunroof is available in only Fearless + PS.
