Tata Motors has added a CNG variant to the Nexon lineup. Priced at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the CNG-powered Nexon comes with the brand's twin-cylinder setup offered in other Tata CNG cars including Punch, Tigor, Altroz, and Tiago.
Here are the top highlights of the Tata Nexon CNG:
The Nexon iCNG is the first CNG vehicle that comes with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. With this 3-cylinder unit, the vehicle can produce a maximum power of 99 bhp and 170 Nm of max torque. The power is sent to the front wheel through a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is also believed that the Nexon CNG could get an AMT gearbox at a later stage.
Tata, in its CNG cars, uses a twin-cylinder technology. In this tech, the CNG cylinders are split into two units and integrated into the boot floor with a total capacity of 60 litres. This eventually creates a boot space of 321 litres.
Tata Nexon CNG has eight variants: Smart (O), Smart+, Smart+ S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+, and Fearless+ PS. Prices for these variants range between Rs 8.99 lakh to Rs 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
