Toyota has showcased the revamped Innova EV concept at the Indonesia International Motor Show in Jakarta. This concept made its first appearance at the event's 2022 iteration. However, this time the brand provided all the details of the concept's battery specs and also opened its door for the media to get a clear look at the interior. So, let's go through all the key highlights for the updated Innova EV concept that has been revealed.
The concept Innova EV features quite different exterior elements from the current diesel-powered Innova Crysta. In the front, there is a nearly closed-off grille portion which is flanked by the recognizable angular headlights that are now connected through a light strip and feature new LED signatures.
The bumper offers slimmer fog lights, and the Toyota badge gets a blue accent to hammer the EV point home. On both sides, there are blue and grey decals across the car, with blacked-out roofs and pillars.
The concept EV rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, and the back is translucent and has connected LED tail lamps with new signatures and blue borders. There is 'BEV' badging on the boot lid.
The overall layout of the interior is similar to the current on-sale model of the Crysta but a notable change is a flat floor under which the battery pack is located. There is dual-tone upholstery, it doesn't feature a gear lever, and the electric blue accent is a great add-on.
Other elements feature a large infotainment screen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a digital driver readout, captain seats in the second row, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and more.
It is officially revealed by Toyota that this concept EV is powered by a 59.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack that makes up to 181.48 bhp and a massive 700Nm of torque. The range covered by the car is yet to be confirmed officially.
It is said by the automaker that they won't be starting production of the Innova EV anytime soon. So, the launch is yet to be expected for some time now.
