Toyota has unveiled the sixth-generation RAV4, one of its most successful SUVs in international markets. The all-new model adopts a fresh, boxier design and, in a major shift, is now available exclusively with hybrid powertrains. The SUV also comes in three distinct styling lines — Core, Adventure (also known as Rugged), and GR Sport — each with its own unique design elements and features.

The new RAV4 gets a more muscular and squared-off appearance compared to its predecessor. Sharp creases, squared wheel arches, and sculpted rear haunches lend it a strong and confident stance. Up front, the SUV features C-shaped LED headlamps and a layered grille design that align with Toyota's current design language.

The Core trim sports a closed grille with a bold upper lip and a black trim piece that connects the headlamps. The lower section of the bumper features a rectangular air dam with a cheese-grater mesh pattern and C-shaped fog lamp housings. A silver skid plate underlines the bumper, adding a hint of ruggedness. At the rear, the Core variant is identified by slim, segmented tail lamps and a prominent rear skid plate.

The Adventure trim takes on a more traditional SUV look with a proper grille between the headlamps, a chunkier bumper, and a large central air vent. Toyota has eliminated side vents for this version, instead incorporating auxiliary lighting into the central air vent. A larger, more pronounced skid plate and thicker rear bumper cladding complete the tougher aesthetic.

Meanwhile, the GR Sport trim brings in sportier elements. Though it shares some similarities with the Core, it features a more aggressive bumper with larger vents, a mesh-finished air intake, and a lip spoiler. At the rear, a roof-mounted spoiler and faux diffuser give the SUV a sportier finish. The GR Sport also benefits from mechanical upgrades, including a wider track, retuned springs, high-performance dampers, a sharper steering rack, and additional chassis bracing for improved handling.
Inside, the new RAV4 offers a clean and modern dashboard layout similar across all three variants, with differences limited to colours and trim materials. Depending on the configuration, buyers get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster paired with either a 10.5-inch or 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Toyota has smartly retained physical buttons for key functions such as drive modes, off-road settings, and climate control.
Some variants of the RAV4 also feature a pair of wireless charging pads neatly placed beneath the central air-con vents. One of the unique touches inside the cabin is the front centre armrest, which can be flipped over to double as a mini table — a feature designed for added convenience.
Under the hood, Toyota has made the new RAV4 a hybrid-only offering. Buyers can choose between a self-charging hybrid or a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), with options for both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
The self-charging hybrid produces 181 bhp in the front-wheel-drive version and 188 bhp in the all-wheel-drive configuration. The plug-in hybrid variants are more powerful, offering 264 bhp in front-wheel drive and 300 bhp in all-wheel drive. The PHEVs also come with a 22.7 kWh battery pack that provides an all-electric driving range of up to 100 km (WLTP). Additionally, they support fast charging at up to 50 kW DC.
