Toyota sold 30,516 passenger vehicles in July 2026 Kia sold 28,200 PVs last month, registering 27.4 percent YoY growth
The battle for mid-market supremacy in the Indian market further intensified in July 2026, as Toyota and Kia India have posted impressive growth. Driven by strong consumer demand for feature-packed SUVs, multi-utility vehicles (MPVs), and hybrid or electric powertrains, both automakers posted solid year-on-year (YoY) dispatches to kick off the third quarter on a high note.

Toyota Sales July 2026
Toyota maintains its lead over Kia to secure 5th spot in the leading car manufacturer in India. However, the difference between the two is not significant and one good product could make Kia the 5th largest passenger vehicle manufacturer in India. In July 2026, Toyota has posted a total sales of 32,516 units, including domestic and exports.
In the domestic market, Toyota dispatched a total of 30,516 vehicles in July 2026 as against 29,159 units in the same month last year, posting a YoY sales growth of 5 per cent. In the current calendar year (between January and July), the company sold a total of 233854 vehicles as against 207497 units in the same period last calendar year.
Kia Sales July 2026
Kia has reported wholesale dispatches of 28,200 units in July 2026 compared to 22,135 units in July 2025, registering a robust 27.4 per cent year-on-year growth. This marks Kia India's best-ever July wholesale performance since its inception. Kia India recorded cumulative year-to-date (YTD) wholesale dispatches of 191,949 units during the January-July 2026 period. This reflects a healthy 16.8% growth over 164,274 units dispatched during the corresponding period last year.
The strong performance was driven by sustained customer demand across Kia India's diverse product portfolio. The Seltos continued to be the company's volume driver, consistently averaging over 10,000-unit sales every month since launch in January. Seltos and Sonet have been driving company’s growth momentum and growing at the pace of 75.7% and 34.5% YTD respectively.
