New Hyundai Tucson revealed in South Korea Longer and wider than the older model Debuts Hyundai's new 'Art of Steel' design language
Hyundai Motor Company has officially revealed the new-generation Tucson SUV, which comes with a radical new design. The SUV debuts the Korean brand’s new ‘Art of Steel’ design language and latest in-car tech.
The all-new 2027 Hyundai Tucson comes with a more upright body and angular detailing, and a striking full-width LED lighting at front and rear. In terms of proportions, the SUV is 4700mm in length, 1905mm in width and 1658mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2785mm. It is around 60mm longer and the wheelbase is increased by 30mm compared to the previous generation, and its width has also been increased by 40mm.

Hyundai claims that the all-new Tucson has a class-leading interior space for passengers and cargo. The second-row headroom is increased by 29mm, while the second-row doors now open to 83 degrees for easier entry/exit.
The interior has also received a major overhaul, and is inspired by the brand’s latest models like the larger Palisade and Ioniq 9. It comes with a floating-type dashboard with a new, larger central touchscreen infotainment unit running the brand’s new Pleos in-car software interface.

Instead of the conventional instrument cluster, the new Hyundai Tucson gets a “slim display” which is also expected to play the role of a head-up display. This screen is placed above the upper rim of the D-cut steering wheel. The Korean-spec model gets a card holder to the side of the driver’s air vent, and a dual wireless smartphone charging system. The Korean-spec model comes with multiple interior colour schemes, including dual-tone mud grey/dove grey; black/sand beige; black/soil brown; as well as black monotone.
For the first time, the Korean-spec Tucson will get a new XRT trim with a more rugged and adventurous design. The Hyundai Tucson XRT comes with an exclusive front grille design with a rectangular motif, a wider front skid plate insert, and black wheel arches with forged carbon-fibre inspired patterns.

Other design highlights include XRT-specific alloy wheels and a sportier unique rear bumper with skid plate insert. Inside the cabin, the new Tucson XRT gets “patterned seats” with protective floor mats. The tailgate also has touch-sensitive LED lighting which is claimed to “enhances practicality for outdoor activities.”
Hyundai hasn’t revealed the new Tucson’s platform or powertrains. We expect the new Tucson to feature the latest iteration of the 1.6-litre hybrid system, which should offer improved performance and efficiency. It is expected to receive the updated versions of the existing powertrain range, including naturally-aspirated and turbo petrol engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
