The Indian Auto Expo returns in 2023 after skipping last year to the Covid-19 pandemic. While the turn out from manufacturers is less than usual, there are certain exciting showcases at this year’s event and Maruti Suzuki is one among them. Today we take a look at hall no 9, were India’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki, is showcasing its lineup.

Maruti Suzuki has displayed CNG version of the Brezza subcompact SUV on stand at Auto Expo 2023. Second CNG SUV option in the car makers line up the new model is expected to launch soon in the Indian market.
Like the regular model, the Brezza CNG will come loaded with features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, HUD, wireless charging, ambient lighting, connected car tech, sunroof, Arkamys sound system and more.
Powering the new CNG Brezza is the same 1.5-litre unit that is paired to a factory-fitted CNG kit. The motor pumps out 88 PS with 121.5 Nm of peak torque in CNG mode. The SUV will be offered with manual transmission option. A unique feature in the Brezza CNG is the clever placement of the CNG cylinder which allows for some usable boot space that can accommodate a couple of soft bags.

Also on display is the new Wagon R Flex-fuel which made its debut a few months back in Delhi. The technology demonstrator can run both on normal petrol as well as e85 fuel. Powering the hatchback is an all-new 1.2-litre powertrain, which can run e20 to e85 ethanol blended fuel mixture.
Expected to make it to production by 2025, the WagonR flex-fuel will have similar power and performance to the regular petrol version while reducing tailpipe emissions by 79%, according to the company.

Next up the first statement piece on display is the new eVX electric SUV concept. Previously codenamed YY8, the new EV features a brand-new design and an all-new electric architecture.
Based on a dedicated platform, the EV uses a 60-kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 550 kms. While it is around the same size as a Creta, its skateboard architecture means that it will have a more spacious interior in comparison.

Day 2 of Auto Expo the company unveiled two new cars and also opened bookings for the same. While the first was the Fronx which is the crossover model based on the Baleno hatchback, the other is the Jimny off-road SUV. Both cars were welcome with much fanfare and the company announced that bookings for both the models are open.

In addition to these standout models, the regular line-up models like the Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Ciaz and the Grand Vitara were also on display in unique paint schemes.
