A fairly new entrant into the Indian auto market, KIA cars has created a fan following of its own. Charming customers with its unique styling and upmarket interior’s, the car has eaten into the sales share of many legacy brands to rank 5th in the market. The company currently operates out of its manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh with major reliance on Hyundai Motor India Limited for parts and technology.
KIA cars have been widely popular in the international market due to their value-for-money package. Coming to India, the brand took help of its sister company Hyundai to create interesting products. Despite being based on the same platform as the Hyundai Creta, the KIA Seltos offered better looks and more features. All KIA cars come characterised by a ‘Tiger Nose’ front grille which adds a sporty flair to the overall vehicles. On the inside, Indian customers were introduced to technologies that not only added a unique quotient but also enhance the safety and comfort of the customers. Unlike most Hyundai’s which have polarising looks, KIA cars appealed to everybody. These features helped the company become a household name in the country beating MG Motors which was launched at a similar time.
One of the USPs of KIA cars, is its ability to offer a well-built and sophisticated interior at a budget friendly price. Most of the company’s products come equipped with a large 10.25-inch floating style infotainment unit, 8-speaker Bose sound system, air purifier, HUD and ventilated seats. These features are majorly missing from most of the competition models, giving the company a competitive advantage. In addition, the brand also recently updated its products to offer 6-airbags as standard from the base model. All these aspects make the KIA brand an option not to miss in the Indian market.
