This small SUV is packed with Tata's twin-cylinder CNG kit, which ensures enough range and bigger boot space. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
In the CNG mode, the powertrain offers 72.41bhp of power and 103Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Punch CNG is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 26.99 km/kg.

However, Exter CNG is only available in two higher variants - S and SX - priced at Rs 8.43 lakh and Rs 9.16 lakh, respectively. The CNG version is equipped with a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In the CNG mode, the powertrain offers 67.72bhp and 95.2Nm of torque. The next model in our list of best CNG SUVs in India is the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which is sold through NEXA dealership. Toyota is also selling the re-badged version of the Fronx, called the Urban Cruiser Taisor in the country. While the Fronx CNG is available in two variants - Sigma and Delta, the Taisor CNG is available in a single variant called the E CNG.
The Fronx Sigma and Delta CNG are priced at Rs 8.46 lakh and Rs 9.32 lakh, respectively. On the other hand, the Taisor E CNG is tagged at Rs 8.71 lakh.
Both models are powered by a tried & tested 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The powertrain produces 76.43bhp of maximum power and 98.5Nm of torque.
This engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Fronx & Taisor CNGs are highly fuel efficient and claim to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 28.5km/kg.
