Maruti Fronx Facelift: All Your Questions Answered

Maruti Suzuki India is preparing to launch the updated Baleno hatchback and the Fronx compact crossover. The Maruti Fronx facelift is currently undergoing testing, and is expected to receive significant changes. Not just visual and features upgrades, the new Fronx is expected to get big mechanical upgrades, including new powertrain option.

Here are the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift:

Q1. When will the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift be launched in India?

The Fronx facelift is likely to be introduced in late 2026 or early 2027; however, MSIL is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The crossover is currently undergoing extensive road testing across the country.

Q2. What is the expected price range for the updated Fronx?

The starting price of the new Fronx is estimated at around Rs 7 lakh for entry-level variants, with top-end strong hybrid and ADAS equipped trims are likely to cost around Rs 13-14 lakh (ex-showroom).

Q3. Will the Fronx Facelift feature a Strong Hybrid engine?

Yes, the updated crossover will receive a strong hybrid powertrain. MSIL is working on a locally developed Series Hybrid (HEV) technology. This hybrid version will use the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Z-Series petrol engine, a smaller battery pack and an electric motor. The petrol engine will work as a generator to charge an onboard battery pack, while an electric motor drives the wheels directly.

Q4. What will be the expected mileage of the Fronx Hybrid?

Maruti Suzuki is aiming to achieve a fuel efficiency of around 35+ kmpl with the hybrid version of the Fronx. It will be one of the most fuel-efficient cars in India.

Q5. Will the current petrol and CNG engines continue?

Yes, the lower and mid-spec variants of the Maruti Fronx facelift will continue to be offered with the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and factory-fitted CNG kit. Adding to it, the crossover is likely to retain the 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol engines. However, the Series Hybrid setup will likely be reserved for higher-spec trims.

Q6. Will the Maruti Fronx Facelift get ADAS?

Yes. Spy shots of test prototypes of the Fronx facelift revealed rear-mounted LiDAR and radar-based calibration equipment. It is expected to get a LEVEL 2 ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring and others.

Q7. What new features are coming to the cabin?

The new Fronx facelift is expected to receive new comfort and convenience features. The crossover could receive a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Other additions likely to include ventilated front seats, a digital driver’s display, and new seat upholstery and door trims. The top-spec variant is also likely to get an electric sunroof.

Q8. How will the exterior design change?

The Fronx facelift will retain the coupe-SUV silhouette. Design changes will be minimal, featuring a sharper, redesigned front grille and bumper, revised split-LED DRLs and headlamp clusters, new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, revised connected LED taillight signatures, and bumper.
